I've been meaning to read The Hate U Give for about 2 years now, so this will be the perfect opportunity to finally get around to it :)
Jill wrote: "I think I'm finally going to read Circe for this one!"I did the audio on that one. It was amazing.
Do books that won the award in past years count as well? Because I've been meaning to finish this book (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...) and it won the award in 2017.
Circe is amazing!! I have my own goal of reading all of the 2018 winners by the end of the year. Mythology is not at all what I would blatantly choose to read, but couldn't put it down. Will probably do Educated for my choice in this area.

I have a few books from this category, but will probably go with Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania byErik Larson. I really want to read it, and have been putting it off because I’m “not in a nonfiction kind of mood.” But his books are never dry, so I have to get over that!
I am doing Children of Blood and Bone & have even chosen it as the month's read for my YA discussion group :)
Here is what I've read and quick thoughts on it:
(2018)- I've read it recently. And it was a 4-star book for me. The story is interesting and I love Greek mythology. But, the language was sometimes a little difficult for me, it was slowing down my reading and with that decreasing the enjoyment of the book.
(2018) - This one was a 3-star for me. The interesting part for me was the description of the thought process of someone with Asperger's (I don't know if it's accurate, but I liked it). The whole love story was just blah. I would still recommend it.
(2017) - 4 stars. I love the story very much. Only the plot was sometimes confusing. There were too many characters to keep track of.
(2017) - 4 stars. This is a given if you read the first two of this series. I liked the second book much more, so 1 star less for this one.
(2016) - I was disappointed in this one. Not too bad, but it didn't live up to the Harry Potter series at all. 3 stars.
(2016) - I'm not too much into romance, but I liked this one. I gave it 4 stars, not sure why (It's been about 3 months and already I forgot).
(2016) - Strong feminist poetry. 4 stars
(2016) - 5 stars. My favorite book in this series. It made all my dreams come true.
(2016) - 5 stars! I love Rick Riordan books. I love mythology. What else is there to say.
(2015) - A great mystery that kept me guessing till the end. 4 stars
(2015) - Saga is one of the best graphic novels ever in my opinion. 5 stars
(2014) - 5 stars. One of the rare books where I first watched the movie and then read the book and still enjoyed both very much. I liked all the technical bits about surviving on Mars.
(2012) - So many plot twists. 4 stars
(2012) - At the time of reading I gave this 4 stars, now it would probably be much less. Maybe 2 stars. The novelty of the first part is gone, and it became just a sappy romance.
(2012) - 5 stars! This one made me cry. It's so sad, especially in the end. But the characters are also bold, strong, sarcastic and very realistic.
(2011) - A masterpiece. I wish the next book would be released already. 5 stars. And what will I read for this prompt?
- I think this one.OMG! This was a long one!
Just finished Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard for this task and it’s really good! I read the ebook format from my local library through the Libby app on my phone. Super convenient. I definitely want to read the rest of the series.
I chose The Hate U Give and wow, it was so good. One book down. (also to anyone thinking about reading Circe, I highly recommend it, I loved it).
The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women is Girly Book Club's book for this month and it was a Choice Award!

Yes! I'm going to read The Hate U Give for this one as well - just ordered a copy.

I ended up reading The Hate U Give for this one; I loved it!
I just finished The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women for this prompt. It was very well done and the kind of book that everyone should read.
Consider I'll Be Gone in the Dark – you'll also be able to check #2 The book is better since it's being adapted into TV series.
I just finished The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton and LOVED it. Easy to see why it was a Goodreads Choice Award winner.
I just finished The Princess Saves Herself in This One. I'm not a big poetry fan but I enjoyed this one.
