What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

Hi, the novel I'm looking for I'm almost sure I found it under the YA novel tag, but I don't remember exactly how old the main character is. She is definitely not younger than 16/17 but not older than 22/23 though. Ok, so she can read minds and even "access" the mind if she is looking for information (or something similar). She thinks she is the only one who can do that. I remember that she goes on a lot of first dates because, of course, she knows when the guy is lying. The only person she is close to is her best friend. Somehow she bumps into this guy (I don't remember if it was another date) and she realizes she can't enter his mind. From now on I think everything is a spoiler, so bear with me. (view spoiler)[Days or weeks ahead, she finds out this unusual guy has the same abilities and is training to use them better in an academy. Everyone who trains there is surprise there's someone who thought was the only person in the world with these skills. The next thing I thought it was pretty obvious but it was meant to be huge: the academy's director is her father and he knew all along that she was alone. I think it was because someone was sent to kill her when she was little, and the consequence was a car crash where the mother died and the father decided to protect the girl by staying away from her.
Obviusly, there's the bad guys. In this novel though, the bad ones have the exact same abilities that the good guys but want to use them as weapons. They want to capture the girl because she is meant to be superior (I don't remember exactly if it was a profecy or my mind just thought it was).
I remembered a few things: when she started to train in the academy, they noticed she was stronger than the rest of them so they made her work harder to create some kind of mental barrier so no one could control her mind (something you could do if you were weak). Then there was an specific scene where the bad guys where trying to capture the main character so she decided to expose herself as a bait (they were in a park) so the good guys can win, but something went wrong... I don't know what, lol. (hide spoiler)]
Finally, I think I read it between 2011 and 2016.

I'm really sorry if I misspelled something but I have been looking for this book for a long time and I just found out about this group so I was excited to type down everything I remembered.

Have you tried using this site? It allows you to be more specific in your search: choosing “mystery” or “erotic romance” and lets you eliminate others: “war” “Christmas” etc.

She can kind of, because if she learns to control her abilities she can enter people's minds
