One favorite? I've got 3, each very different: Just Once by Lori Handeland, Becoming by Michelle Obama, and Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. A book to make you feel, to make you think, and to make you laugh.
Weirdly enough, two of my favorites have been graphic novel retellings of classic novels: To Kill a Mockingbird and Handmaid's Tale!
I've finally gotten around to actually reading The Lord of the Rings (not sure how I put it off for this long!). So, the first two books in the trilogy (on the third right now) would be my favorite.
Fiction: where the crawdads singNonfiction: maybe you should talk to someone
..so far! It will keep getting harder to choose a real favorite for 2019!
I'd have to say it's a tie between Rupi Kaur's Milk and Honey and Robert Galbraith's The Cuckoo's Nest. I always have a hard time picking a favorite.

I'm at a tie - A Curse So Dark and Lonely and The Gilded Wolves. I love a good Beauty and the Beast retelling and Curse was such a unique one. I am also a big fan of squad books and Gilded Wolves did not disappoint; I will not admit to crying at the end of it.
