What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

This was a book I read in 2006-2007 about these two boys who were friends and one day a firetruck passes by and one of the boys runs after it and then disappears. Nobody in the town is able to find the boy. Some random info I remember: at one point the boy used a ouija board with a new friend he made. He starts cycling a lot. He helps a woman deliver a baby goat (a little foggy on the details)

i read this book swell and am desperately trying to remember the name as i want to get it for my friend. i remember the woman he met ends up being the one that kidnapped his friend and the kid lived in a small american gypsy town with his mum if this helps.

What is a small American gypsy town? Or, give an example?

im not quite sure as it didn't have a name and I'm an australian so i have no idea. but all i know is that it was a small town that had lots of travellers always coming through or gypsies as they were described.

Okay so this book was called ‘Lost’ or maybe ‘The Lost’ I cant remember but the remarkable this is. That I can’t find it anywhere!! I might have a hard copy somewhere but it’s like it just disappeared off of the internet? Or was never there?

I think it's the same. One description is: Jonah and Joe are best friends. One day, Jonah runs after a fire engine and is never seen again. Months go by and gradually people start to forget Jonah, except Joe, who refuses to believe he is dead. When Joe befriends a woman on an isolated farm, his life pitches into danger as he realises her terrible and terrifying secret.
