The second half of FoH.

I can see how the effects of balefire could be devastating to entire cities and why no one has used it for so long. To erase everything the person killed with it ever did, good or bad could destroy the world. But at the end of this book, I was cheering for Rand when it brought Mat back. I had been ready to put the book down like a sulky Game of Thrones fan. The preparations that Moiraine was making clued me in early that she would be killed off soon, but not Mat! After all, he's ta'veren!

I just joined the group - is it still active? If so are we reading The Lord of Chaos in August? I just started LoC and was wondering if that is the plan!

Totally agree about the use of balefire. I would have been very disappointed if Mat had been removed from the story just as he was getting interesting. I think my favorite scenes in this book were any of his strategy scenes! I love the reluctant general. It's interesting to see the juxtaposition of Rand needing to keep Lews voices under control, and seemingly Mat needing to accept that these memories are a part of him that are not some battle cheat code! Looking forward to seeing how Mat develops as the story proceeds.

I'm still reading but the group has been very quiet for about a month. I just finished LoC

I thought that there no longer any interest. Haha! I will add book six now.

I was disappointed in Moraine’s death. It was so sad. But with a cast this size, some of the main ones have to go to keep things interesting. It’s funny how This is the second time Mat was killed to be brought back. Poor Mat!

I’m all in. Gotta finish before the series comes out on Amazon!

Love this book. Mat is amazing now. I used to hate him, but his character development is incredible. Moiraine's death hit hard. I really like her. What a shame! Nynaeve is getting more tolerable as well.
