Sheri S. (sheaxma) | 30 comments This adult non-fiction book is an older book, I saw it at my ex’s Aunt’s house in 2005. I don’t remember if it was really an old, old book, or just titled and designed to look old - the cover contained hand-drawn images of flowers with their pertinent genus description. It was about the European botanists to first explore the flora in the early United States; many who risked their lives and died due to poisoning, exposure to the elements, getting lost, captured or killed by American Indians, or wounded or killed by wild animals, the ones who survived helped the settlers survive by learning what was edible and what was not, and learning how to garden this new, foreign land.

You can "bump" your thread every month or so. This pushes your thread back to the top of the folder instead of languishing here on page 94 from two months ago, where fewer eyes will see it. Get back in the game! Bump!
You can do this by typing a new comment at the end of the thread, or even by typing the word "bump."
Good luck!

Sheri, Is this book for adults or teens?

I added some details to the header/ topic title. Feel free to edit it.

Have you tried Worldcat.org? For example:

Search using WorldCat.org:
https://www.worldcat.org/advancedsear...
Subject: botany botanists united states | 1900-2007 ? | Non-Fiction | Book | English

(Note: Sometimes the website glitches and defaults to a non-English language. Try right-clicking a blank area on the webpage and selecting Translate to English (or similar) from the browser's menu.)

One example is Tall Trees And Far Horizons;Adventures And Discoveries Of Early Botanists In America. by Virginia S. Eifert.

It was an adult book. I tried to add that to my title, but it wouldn't save the change.

Thank you so much for the suggestions, but it's not any of those three books.

That, I don't remember. I only perused the book, I was there for a visit, so I didn't get to really read it. I will google "William Bartram", though, thank you!
