I worked as a fishing guide in Ontario for 4 years with off-the-reserve Ojibway until a terrible tragedy occurred that causes deep suffering today, nearly 45 years later. The novel is The 53rd Parallel, I tried to write a big adventure story, and I have been delighted with the fact that the Museum of Ojibwa Culture has endorsed it.
