I have had Maisie on my radar for awhile. One day I will add it to the line up. I just love how you embrace every tag, Nancy, and really go with gusto to read as many as possible. I need some of that energy! I threw my first London pick on the DNF pile and just started another, hoping to get it under the wire.

They are good reads, they have a strong female lead, and they are set in London just after WWI (normally the stories revolve around WWII). I hope you enjoy the series...I have. They are pretty quick reads.

Ha, I wish my husband agreed with you! My life is in a holding pattern right now. I've never had so much time to read (for fun) before, so I'm taking advantage of it. Someday soon though I'll need to redirect my energy elsewhere. But for now, I'm loving this.
Maisie Dobbs is a fairly short book if you're looking for another London pick. Which book did you ditch?
I started The Keeper of Lost Things but I keep falling asleep listening to it (which is sometimes a very good thing). I should have started a Kate Atkinson book earlier, as I suspect it will require more concentration.
This is a fun series, I've only read two so far- but I always feel like I learn something from them.

I ditched Midnight Riot-not because it was bad, but I just could not get connected to the story. Picked up another while browsing my library The Great Pearl Heist: London's Greatest Thief and Scotland Yard's Hunt for the World's Most Valuable Necklace, which is going a little better, I should get it done in time

I like the characters, including her mentor, her sponsor (former employer) and a WWI vet who helped her in the case by going undercover. Her first case involved some aspects of psychology and therapy, and I found that interesting. She's quite compassionate and ethical, and it appears that she also has some psychic abilities. It irks me when people think the science of psychology is linked with psychic ability. Nevertheless I might read 1 or 2 more in the series because it does seem different from many of the other mystery series out there. I'll probably wait until I'm done with my Louise Penny series, which is my current favorite.
