Please submit your nominations for Young Adult Superhero Fiction Novels (or children's book) for October here!

Tiamatty My first thought is the Kieron Gillen/Jamie McKelvie run on Young Avengers. It's pretty awesome, and very much a Young Adult book. 15 issues isn't too long, either, I don't think.

The Omnibus is coming out in December and it looks interesting!

But because there are so many comic book groups already on Goodreads, we focus mostly on prose novels. Is there anything in that genre you're interested in?

Madison (jewelsavestheday) | 13 comments I'm not a very active participant, so I don't really know... has this club read Hero by Perry Moore?

That's a great question, Madison!

I didn't know the answer offhand - because I read it awhile back and couldn't remember if I had done it as part of this group.

The answer is no, we haven't! So can we take that as our first nomination?

Hero

I went ahead and set up a new bookshelf to list all the books we've read, so I don't have to go back and search again :)

Madison (jewelsavestheday) | 13 comments Please use it as a nomination! It is one of the best superhero novels I've read recently. :)

Althea J. | 10 comments I've been wanting to read Perry Moore's Hero for awhile, so great nomination!

Another YA superhero novel I've heard great things about is Cassidy Jones and the Secret Formula.

In looking at the reviews, I was surprised by how many adult men raved about it. Perhaps this book has the wide appeal that goes beyond gender and the YA classification. I don't know, because I haven't read it, but my interest sure is piqued.

Great! Two nominations so far! I'll close nominations on Saturday, September 20 and set up a poll.

Steven Morton | 181 comments I loved Hero read it a few years ago and thought the book was so well written. I wish Perry did not past away so suddenly he was truly gifted.
