I read a paperback found in my apartment on holiday, I THOUGHT it was called 'The Rowan Berry Tree' but I can't find anything matching that title! Christie was in love with a local squire, but she was beneath him, being only a mine (charcoal/gunpowder) owners daughter, she was jilted after his father tricked him into abandoning her, she married Buchanan instead, wealthy & slightly older, but she still loved the squire (Robin?) it was a strange marriage, they loved physically & children came along, but Christie was wild and rebellious and it wasn't until her husband, paralysed by an accident, needed her to 'bully' him into recovery, that their love began to blossom. It ended with Christie stuck down a flooded mine for 6 days, assumed dead, him refusing to believe it, her desperately clinging on to life, oh it was very emotional!!! I would really like to find out the name of this author so I can read more of their books, any ideas anyone????!!!!

There is a book called Red Rowan Berry by Frances Murray, an author I admire, but the plot doesn't match. It sounds more like a book by Catherine Cookson but I can't keep her plots distinct.
