PtP - Worldly Prize Readers (12)
1. Introduce yourself to your team. Let your team members know where you are from. This is a great to know when themes are announced and when team-mates can expect other members to post their book choices.2. Team Captain - reserve a couple of posts in this thread tracking your team's book selection and completion. (Alternatively they could convert a chat comment to the tracking post/s.)
3. Name your team. Using this round's theme of International Awards, come up with an award from anywhere in the world for your team name. We are an open/public group with no age limit, so please make sure any chosen name is smart, not smutty ;)
Please PM your name to Jane(PS) by early Wednesday 4 September.
4. If you have a private profile, please 'friend' your team-mates. This is really important, because without this, your team-mates can't see your shelves to select a books under option 2.
5. Please post your book selections/completions in the format provided below. (This format is also posted in both the Q&A and Sign-Up threads.) We need to know the week that each book corresponds to, the page numbers, and how the book qualifies including names to lists/shelves (where applicable), etc. I can't stress this enough. When in doubt - link it*!
* don't link to your review in your completion post - reviews in your completion posts should be included in full within that post.
You don't want to start reading a book and then find it doesn't meet the requirements because some information (eg page count or theme link) was missing from your original post.
I will be monitoring this and your book will not be considered complete until I am satisfied that your selection and completion posts comply with the format rules of the challenge.
Remember - you can ONLY change your book selection in the week that the theme is called.
6. You MUST check in with your team each week, ideally once the theme is announced. Please let your team know if you expect to have spotty communication or are on holidays or having an operation.
7. When you post the completion of your book, you must post a review; enough for us to know you have actually read the book. Please don't link to a review. You must post the review in this thread.
8. Re-reads are allowed but you can't read the same book twice within this challenge.
9. There is no prize for the winning team - bragging rights only :)
10. Each week, the theme will be announced in the Q&A Annoucement thread. The full list of themes announced during this round will be maintained in msg 1 of that thread.
The Rule on the Pass Option
* Each team can only have ONE member using their pass each week.
* Each member can only use that pass once each 5 weeks.
* This means that one or two team members (dependent upon the size of your team) will miss using a pass in each 5 week block.
* No-one can use the pass option in the last week of the challenge.
* In the final week if Option 2 is used, members must select their book from another team. This will be advised in the week 11 announcement.
Key selection and completion post information. You must have ALL elements in your book posts. The format for selection posts Option 1:

How the book qualifies - please link or name the qualifying bookshelf/list where applicable (link if possible).
If the theme is based off the bookcover or a letter in the title etc, please just repeat the theme.
The format for selection posts Option 2:

Page numbers
Name of the team-member, their star rating, the date they read the book.
Format for completion posts:

Please DO NOT CHAT in these selction/completion posts. It needs to be super clear.
If you 'waffle' about your decided book - please REPOST your selection once you decide. DO NOT go back and edit your waffling post.
I'll be tracking each team's progress separately, using the Captain's summary in each team's thread to check for accuracy.

Hi new friends! I am so excited for the theme this round!!I am terrible with cute team names so if anyone has ideas let’s hear em!
Hey LoganI'm not very good when it comes to team names either, hopefully one of our teammates is creative with names.
In hopes of getting someone's creative juices flowing, here is the Wikipedia page for literary awards:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...
Lots of international options
Greetings, everyone! I've played PtP many times and it never fails to be great fun...looking forward to winning with all of you! :) I'm from the great midwestern state of Iowa, retired and anxious to start playing. Unfortunately, I'm not great at names either, but I'll try to come up with an option. Don't hold your breath.
It's my first time participating in this competition and I have no idea that time got a name. I'm from Brazil, so I don't know what kind of names I can suggest . I have a question I choose one person and then I choose a book from his/her list?
Hey Camille and Mariana!Mariana,
Each week Jane will give us a category. You can either pick a book from the category or you can pick a book one of your teammates has read in the last 6 months AND rated 3 or more stars. It won't need to be the same teammate each week.
Let me know if that answers your question.
These names are just to get us thinking about team names (I used a randomizer):The Possibility Act
The Laugh Award
The Ladybug Hall Of Fame
The Unsung Art Award (or The Unsung Book Award)
The Luminous Performance Award
The Clever Fingerprint Award
The Imagination Clover Award
The Mysterious Mark Award
Hi team, I'm from Australia and looking forward to the start of this round. I already have several books picked out for various categories.
Please don't laugh, but since it's an international theme this time, I thought of Worldly Readers...or something like that. Maybe someone else can fine-tune it? Or, maybe it'll spark a thought for someone?
Worldly Readers works for me, but if anyone wants to offer tweaks please do. Just FYI: My county just went under mandatory evacuation orders in preparation for the hurricane (I'm less than a mile over into the actual evacuation area). We weathered the last two that came our way, but this time we might actually evacuate (much stronger storm this time). It is still wait and see at the moment.

Best wishes Miriam! Hope everything has worked out - major destruction over in Bermuda. Stay safe.

Thanks Jane!
This is the slowest moving hurricane! Right now my family is staying put, we're far enough inland to avoid the worst of the storm surge and the hurricane has dropped enough that while the storms will be bad, I don't think they'll be worse than we've had in the last few years. But I'm stalking the hurricane tracking sites and the bags are packed just in case.
We're under curfew tonight and tomorrow, but since everything is closed it's more of a precaution.

Heavens - doesn't sound like fun, but at least you should be OK. We had a cat 3 cyclone go over the top of us, 200kms inland, a few years ago. Our country houses were NOT build be be cyclone-proof. ...Madly going around taking photos of our furniture and appliance in case the roof came off! All was fine though :D

That was smart to take pictures of everything. My mom is ticked off because she just had a new roof put on her house (as in the last few weeks).

Eeek - hope it stays put. Probably has a better chance than most of the roofs in the area! Fingers crossed.
Glad y'all like the team name, and thanks to Camille for the suggestion.I hope everyone is ready for the first category (less than a day until it's posted).
Hi everyone - you have a new team-mate!A few members answered my call for a extra player and I figured you wouldn't mind a extra one in here as well.
Say hello to Kindra (when she makes it over :)!

This went straight to the lovin. I couldn't stop reading it. I had to know what happened. Marie and Horse have an instant attraction. Marie appears to be a good girl that likes to be bad. She is certainly attracted to danger and that is just what she gets in the exotic biker form of Horse. I found myself routing for them the entire time and longing to re-watch "Sons of Anarchy" because I was feeling the Jackson Teller vibe the whole time. It was a quick read but I formed an attachment to the characters and I am not so ashamed to say that I definitely am longing to hear more about them to see where their love takes them.
Great going in the first week Kindra - you got both posts right and none of the 'old hands' have posted their completions yet :)
Week#1*Review* - Dead Until Dark
Rating: 5 starts
I love this book, a plot with vampires sounds cliche but I really like the characteristics used to a presenter them. I liked the way that the author used vampires' social acceptance to work problems like intolerance and hate crimes and still keep the romance. The book is short but is a big series if some of you are in. The rest of this week I will continue reading this series.

Y'all are really doing great. Everyone has checked in with a selection post and we've got 1/3 of the completions done.Way to go team!
Hi team,Sorry I haven't/won't be around much.
My father in law was diagnosed with terminal cancer last week and has been given 3-12 months. We are all devastated
On top of that it looks like I need shoulder surgery, I'll know more after I talk to the specialist next week.
Hurts to do most things but I can still read, so I should be able to keep up each week.
