Oh I read it a couple months ago and it had me hooked! It really made the hairs on the back of my neck raise at times!
Hello Readers,Today is Day Two of the Spookathon!! I'm super excited to read some scary stories.
Today's challenge is read a Thriller!! By definition that is any book that uses suspense, excitement, apprehension and exhilaration to tell a story.
The book I'm reading currently for the challenge is Queen of Air and Darkness. I am aware that this may not be super thriller, but to me there is definitely suspense. Also, I'm currently moving so all my books are in boxes and I only have a few to read.
I'm currently reading for this spookathon:
Queen of Air and Darkness
Page Count: 100 pages
I'm glad the book I'm reading counts for this challenge haha!!
Still listening to the audio book Lock Every Door. I am loving it!!

Day Three of our Spookathon!!
Challenge: Name a nonhuman character in your book.
Sadly none of the books I'm reading this week have a nonhuman character. So I can't name one. Does anyone have a witch or wizard as a character in their book?

Oh wow giving the fact that I am currently reading three books I have do many human-like nonhumans! I have Shadowhunters from City of Bones (Jace, Alec etc.), a werewolf (Luke), also I have blood mages from Wicked Saints (Malachiasz, Serefin, Ostyia) and also something like ghosts named Grays in Ninth House (but sadly I don't know their names)
Well in Siege and Storm I have Alina who's Grisha and The Darkling, who's well, The Darkling and in These Witches Don't Burn I have Hannah who's a teen witch.
Day Four of our Spookathon!!Challenge: Read a book with red on the cover.
Queen of Air and Darkness has red on the cover, which is lucky because I'm still reading it.
What book are you reading that has red on the cover?
Day Five of our Spookathon!!!
Today's challenge is Share your childhood fear.
When I was little I was always scared of basements. Ever since my parents moved us from an apartment to a house, the basement has always creeped me out. And I know a lot of us share this fear of basements. For some reason my six year old self always assumed that some creepy demon, ghost, goblin or witch lived in our basement and she was invisible and no one can see her but we can hear her. I don't know why but I always felt like I was watched at night or that something was behind me when I slept.
So whenever my mom would ask me to bring the laundry to the laundry room, which was in the basement, I would like freak out. I would run like my life depended on it to the basement, throw the laundry basket on the floor and run back up the stairs and then try to catch my breath!!
To this day, as a twenty five year old married woman, I am proud to say that I am still scared of basements!
Haha!
Happy Reading!

My childhood fear was of insects. Any kind from Ladybugs to Praying Mantises, and finding out that female Praying Mantises will kill the males and eat them did not help.
Day 7 of the Spookathon!!!
Name a book or movie that frightened you or gave you goosebumps!
I don't recall any movies freaking me out besides the new IT movie. Many books gave me goosebumps but I not the kind that really scared me or anything. Well, Lock Every Door was a very good book that gave me the chills. I highly recommend it if you are up for a good mystery.

I haven't read or seen as many scary books or movies as I wish I could have, but the first book that came to mind was House of Furies by Madeleine Roux which I LOVED, it's gothic horror and the movie was A Quiet Place.
Oh yeah! I love A Quiet Place. That really kept me on my toes. I've seen it so many times. I also loved Bird Box. That was a very good movie especially if you are a fan of A Quiet Place. I heard there is going to be a second one.
Day 8 of the Spookathon!!!Read a book during sunset or in the dark.
For me, it was King's Cage. I have been listening to it and listened to a good chunk of it today during the night.
Day 9 of the Spookathon!!
Challenge of the day is Pumpkin Carving! When was the last time you ever carved a pumpkin?
Last time I carved a pumpkin was probably 2015 with my bf who is now my husband. I carved a bat and he carved a scary smiley face on his. I remember how we couldn't get the smell of pumpkin guts out of his kitchen for weeks.

I actually don't remember the last time I carved a pumpkin. I have a very vague memory of sitting down with my mom and my sister when I was younger and that we were each carving a pumpkin but it was so long ago that I just don't remember. I know that every time October comes around I always want to, but then life happens and I don't get a chance.
Happy Halloween!!!!!Today is the final challenge.
Challenge: Read a book while eating your favorite candy!!
I am currently still reading Queen of Air and Darkness. I will read it while eating Reese's Cups. What is your favorite candy?
I am currently reading A Danger to Herself and Others. I got this book at bookcon last year. So far... 50 so pages in.. and it's very slow. I hope it picks up. I did have some m&m's while I was reading the book. But my favorite candy is actually Kinder. I am weak when it comes to hazelnut spreads.
