William Gay | 6 comments Hi all, I am new to this group. Just want to invite you to check out my new book: "Unseen Body Blows." It is a detailed history of my father's World War 2 LST and its seven Pacific campaigns. It's a story of a group of amateur sailors who became competent professionals as they took a brand new, secret, landing ship and made it into a crucial component that helped win the war in the Pacific. Reviews are welcome!

Barbara Osten (barbvdo) | 6 comments Hi William. I am so excited to read your book! My Dad was on an LST during WWII also, but in Europe. He kept journals throughout the war and added to them through the years. I turned them into a book for him in 2017. It's called "LST 388: A World War II Journal." I'm really looking forward to reading about the LST sailor experience in the Pacific and will gladly write a review here on GoodReads and on Amazon. Also, have you contacted the LST Ship Memorial (LST-325)? My dad's book is for sale in their gift shop and you may want to talk with them about your book.

William Gay | 6 comments Barbara, so nice making the connection! I have also found your book and am happy to return the favor! I love the fact you have it in your dad's words. My father passed in 1990 long before I started this journey. Oh how I wish I could ask him some questions today!

William Gay | 6 comments Got a wonderful surprise last week: my book has been reviewed by the December U.S. Naval Institute's Naval History Magazine. I was honestly blown away and highly complimented.
