"Lecturile paralele" continuă în octombrie, dar cum tradițional toamna e un anotimp bogat în noutăți editoriale propun ca luna aceasta să nu ne restrângem la un singur gen, ci pur și simplu să alegem din oferta de cărți noi.

Orice astfel de criteriu e arbitrar, dar hai să zicem cărți publicate pentru prima dată între 1 iulie și 20 octombrie...

Nominalizările vor fi deschise de acum până pe 14 octombrie, urmând să fie alese, în funcție de susțineri, în jur de 5 cărți pentru votul final. Fiecare dintre voi are la dispoziție două nominalizări și două susțineri.

Tocmai a aparut `The Fountains of Silence` a Rutei Sepetys si as vrea sa o recomand.
Mie imi place la nebunie autoarea, am citit momentan cartile deja traduse la noi din ce a scris. Dar am comandat-o si pe asta si abia astept sa ajunga.

Confessions of a Bookseller de Shaun Bythell

"Do you have a list of your books, or do I just have to stare at them?"

Shaun Bythell is the owner of The Bookshop in Wigtown, Scotland. With more than a mile of shelving, real log fires in the shop and the sea lapping nearby, the shop should be an idyll for bookworms.

Unfortunately, Shaun also has to contend with bizarre requests from people who don't understand what a shop is, home invasions during the Wigtown Book Festival and Granny, his neurotic Italian assistant who likes digging for river mud to make poultices.

A man approached me as I was pricing up stock and asked "I wonder if you can help me, I'm looking for self-help books." I'm almost certain that he failed to see the irony, so I asked him what sort of self-help books he was looking for, to which he replied "I don't know".

Wow, nu știam că există un proiect de film / serial după prima carte. Susțin și eu, recunosc că o am deja cumpărată... Și nu, nu de pe Amazon. :)
