And since my book club is reading it anyway: News of the World by Paulette Jiles
Last I heard News of the World was optioned by Tom Hanks! So ... great book and almost certainly a great movie, too!
My favorite book is The Thief . It’s a teen/young adult book that I read as a kid, but when I read it again as an adult there were a lot of subtle things that I missed. I love it and I’ve read it at least 4 times. Adventure book about a thief hired to obtain a valuable item for a king in exchange for his freedom.
Oh, the Doctor Sleep movie is going to be coming out soon. My husband showed me the trailer for it last night. So I don’t know if The Shining/Doctor Sleep qualifies since it’s a 2 book series, but those were both amazing reads as well. The Shining scared me out of my wits, and Doctor Sleep was a great suspense/thriller.
