Hi Jamilynn,

The first book I ever wrote was called Fate’s Love in 2014, and I did go on to publish it (under the same title)

Hi Latifa,

Oooh, this is a tricky one. Out of all my characters, it would probably be Molly from my upcoming series: Black Hearts Still Beat. She’s just such a confident girl who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. I think we could get into all kinds of trouble together.

Hi Kara,

No, I haven’t. That would be awkward, wouldn’t it? But I have like my best friend’s brothers before - does that count? Lol!

Hi Mi,

I don’t have a ritual as such but I do like to write to music. I have playlists for every project I work on to help me get in the mood. Music plays a huge part in my creative process.

Hi Katrina,

Happy Thanksgiving.

I’m most thankful for my family. We’re a small family
but incredibly close. I couldn’t imagine not having them in my life.

L.A. Cotton (lacotton) | 9 comments Zsuzsa wrote: "What is your favorite trope?"

Hi Zsuzsa,

I love a good enemies-to-lovers story - especially if it’s high angst.

L.A. Cotton (lacotton) | 9 comments Lena wrote: "What was your inspitration for the new series? Is there a story behind it that you'd like to share? 😁"

Hi Lena,

There isn’t really a story behind it. I wanted to write something a bit outside my usuals high school / college sports romances, and I’d been on a rockstar romance reading kick.

But Rush actually turned out to be a very special story to me, and probably one of my favourite to write.

Hi Amy,

If you like YA/NA sports romance you should definitely
Check out my Rixon Raider series - the first book is called The Trouble With You

But if you prefer your characters to be a little older, my college series Chastity Falls, might be a good place to start.

L.A. Cotton (lacotton) | 9 comments Antonella wrote: "Which of your characters inspires you the most or you find him/ her fascinating?"

Hi Antonella,

I don’t have a favourite character - it’s like picking a favourite child. But I do probably enjoy writing my flawed characters the most - Braiden from Chasity Falls, Jason from Rixon Raiders, Maverick Prince from Wicked Bay.

message 23: by Brianna (new)

Brianna (rosesandreads) | 154 comments Hello!

Was there a certain thing that made you decide to write about the lives of younger people? Tbh, I love reading novels about young people in my age group because I can more so relate to where they are in their lives but I always wonder what makes an author decide to either write about college age or mid 30s age.

message 24: by Morgan (new)

Morgan Shipman (morganshipman) | 5 comments Hello!

How do you get past overanalyzing your writing? I know this is a bit of a cliche question, but I am an aspiring writer myself and I find that I am continually getting stuck by picking apart what I write. I am constantly going back and proofreading for grammar, spelling, etc. and that keeps me from finishing my books. Any tips or suggestions on how you overcome this would be much appreciated! :)
