Hi guys,
Carol and I will be reading Mr. Rochester, a retelling of Jane Eyre from the viewpoint of, you guessed it, Mr. Rochester, starting on January 6th. Please join us anytime!
Cheers,
Juli

I should've bought it when it was under $5 on Kindle! lol. Hoopla, Overdrive, and my 2 local libraries don't have it.

oh noooooo! that sucks. My NC library didn't have it either but I still have my TN membership and they had an eBook available right away!

I know! It would have made a good audio book I think.

Carol, I will either start later tonight or tomorrow. I want to finish the ARC for The Phantom of the Opera first. They're re-releasing the novel again as part of a classics horror series and I can't believe I have never read it before. It's my favorite musical!

Oh, I liked The Phantom of the Opera! I will be picking up my copy of Mr. Rochester from the library this afternoon and will also start either tonight or tomorrow... Its a big one.

Didn't get any reading done tonight as I had to work late. I'll start with this book tomorrow.

Hi Carol, did you finish the book already? I'm baking slow progress. I've had ac few ARCs due meanwhile.

Carol (carol07) | 4447 comments I am a little over halfway through and loving it! I really feel like I am getting a good picture of poor Rochester. How far are you?

Hi Carol, I though I had replied to your last comment. Ugh!

I just finished the book. I enjoyed it but loved the younger Rochester much more.

Carol (carol07) | 4447 comments I liked the younger Mr. Rochester, too, but just loved the book. I had really enjoyed Jane Eyre, so it was fulfilling to learn about the details of Edward. He had a hard life.

I forget... was his "nephew" mentioned in Jane Eyre?

Have you ever read Rebecca by Daphne DuMauier(sp?). I found a book titled Mrs. DeWinter. I thought it was about the 2nd Mrs. DeWinter, but maybe it was about the first... am going to try that book this year. I know the reviews are moderate, but I am going to try it.

I loved, loved, loved Rebecca! I will check out Mrs. DeWinter and see if I am up for reading that. When are you thinking of starting?

I do not remember if the "nephew" was mentioned in Jane Eyre.

I can start as early as April. Does that sound OK, or do you want to push it out?

Could we start on May 1 instead? I already have a few buddy reads in April. I can create a buddy read page for this.

May is even better. That will allow me to finish a couple of "Read Your Shelves" books that are ahead of Mrs. DeWinter.
