It was a bit of a challenge to read with plenty of characters but the essence of the story is very important; a criticism of why religions and religious sects exist and why their differences cause so much violence.

How did you like Monkeys are Made of Chocolate? I read Ewing's Where Tapirs and Jaguars Once Roamed last year, and enjoyed learning more about the history of Costa Rica; I've been wondering whether I should also check out this book.

His environmental messages are a bit repetitive as each essay was written as a stand alone tale.
