Gabrielle | 2 comments I've been wondering since I started this series why I never read it or heard of it before. Anyone have good recommendations for other similar authors or books? No romance novels, please! If there is a half-naked man on the cover I don't want to read it. Thanks!

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) Into the wilderness and the bronze horseman.

Vanessa Eden Patton (vanessaeden) Another great book is Marie Antoinette: the journey by Antonia Fraser .

NE | 10 comments I'm read High On A Mountain, A Maclachlainn Saga, also set back in the 18th century Scottish Highlands. The storyline is great, but if you're used to a more polished writing style such as Diane Gabaldon's, one might find Tommie Lyn's writing style bothersome. I am throughly fascinated right now with this time period and part of the world, that I was able to get over the style I had grown accustomed to. I love the story thus far and I'm now reading book two Deep In The Valley.
