What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read this book several times in 2013-2014. I found it in a middle school library, so it was likely a middle grade or YA book, though it was more serious in nature. It was a thick book, fantasy if I’m remembering correctly, or possibly historical fiction. The main character was a female protagonist who was either a hunter or a knight. It was one of those typical adventure hero’s journey quests. Romance was not really major if there was any at all. I remember the edition I read had the protagonist on the cover, and the cover was mostly green—green background / plants / even some of her clothes, the rest of which was (I think) brown leather. The book was written in English.

Maybe something by Tamora Pierce, Alanna or First Test? There are lots of different covers.

By the way, you have to add some plot details (not just genre) to your header. Otherwise, it may be locked by the mods. I would recommend adding "hunter or knight."

It’s not by Tamora Pierce! I checked her list. (I love her song of the lioness series though.)
