Andrew Macon All,

Sorry for the tardiness on this post. I'm about 1/3 of the way into "Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East, I'll finish up in sequester this week. I've previously read "At the Lion's Gate" which is a first person perspective of this war, I feel this book will give better context for all aspects of the war. The basic story is that Arab countries, mainly Egypt and Syria massed on Israel's borders then Israel struck first, seizing territory and destroying air forces on the ground. The "Making of the Modern Middle East" part also intrigued me with our upcoming deployment. The current geopolitical situations in the Sinai, West Bank, and Golan Heights can be traced back to this war. More to follow next week.
