Eragon ... Christopher Paolini ...And apologies - seems every post of mine is coming up as a double ... Any ideas to fix this?
I don't see it doubling up. I was going to put Inheritance by Paolini as my under 30 author, but then changed my mind. I think I'll add it to my 2016 reading list.
Done with Eragon ... I enjoyed it ... Was cringing a bit at the start with his use of description (overuse perhaps is a better word) and then remembered he was 15 when he wrote it ... I wish I could have written like this at 15 ... Or now ... I chuckle at how a lot of reviews smash it because it's "Star Wars with dragons", but the hero's journey has been around for a billion years (ok, maybe exaggeration there) ... Just because this follows the style, doesn't mean it's a dragon rip off of Star Wars ... And I love Star Wars ...
I'm going with First Lord's Fury by Jim Butcher. It is book six in the Codex Alera Series. Bought this one in 2009 but haven't gotten into it yet.
I finally finished the damn Tamsin by Peter Beagle. I must say, this is nothing like The Last Unicorn. I don't know what I was expecting, but it surely wasn't this... It started off slow, and the actual ghost, Tamsin, wasn't even introduced until 1/3 of the way through the book. The climax was good, but the rest of kinda slow. I think I built up this book too much in my head because the author told me that he really enjoyed writing this book, so I just assumed that I'd love the book. *sighs* Oh well, it's finished now.
