“What do you mean we’re lost!” I exclaimed snatching the map away from Calvin, he glared angrily at me,

“We’re not lost I’m just trying to find a new direction!”

“Lost.” Roxie coughed.

“It wouldn’t have happened if you didn’t want to see your spotted moth!” Calvin burst angrily. Roxie jumped to her feet,

“It’s not a moth you hothead it’s an amata phegea and it’s intelligent, unlike you.” Calvin growled and lunged toward her, but I grabbed him by his backpack and hauled him away from the goth.

"What was that?" I asked without opening my eyes.
"I have no idea."
I opened my eyes and sat up. All I could see outside was the downpour that had been hammering the Pacific Northwest for the past two and a half days.
"Do you even know where we are?" I asked my brother.
Bobby glared at me with blue-gray eyes identical to my own.
"Do you?" He asked. I rolled my eyes.
"Why would I be asking you if I did, dumbass?"
"Would you stop calling me that?"
"Would you stop being one?"
"Would you -"
"Would you both stop actin' like children? Maud growled. "We ain't lost. We're not but thirty miles out of Salem." We were in Washington.
So, yeah. That's how my Spring break started.

Sixteen-year-old Barbara and her twenty-one-year-old brother, Bobby, get stuck driving their senile, deranged, hilarious great aunt Maud from her retirement home in Tacoma to a friend's funeral in Northern California.
Estranged and bitter, brother and sister aren't too keen on spending a whole two days crammed into the same station wagon, let alone with some crazy old bat they barely know, but their parents think it's a 'great way' for them to reconnect.
