As with the previous run of this task, if you want to read a book that is close to either of the limits, feel free to lock in your book here.

Duly noted! (I'm glad you're seeing these right away!)
I'd like to lock this one in please - it's only just been published so numbers will rise:Slippery Creatures 4.47/777

Yes! Exactly the type to lock in, while the locking in is good.
I like this task, among other reasons because I tend to read less-popular books. Two on my plan that are really close to the rating cutoff:
✔Black Friday 3.76/160
✔The Animal-Lover's Book of Beastly Murder 3.76/623
This one is too close to 1000 ratings for comfort:
✔Nightfall 3.89/929
These have so few ratings that a couple of bad ones might bring them down to 3.74:
✔Tales from Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine: Short Stories for Young Adults 4.40/5
✔Blues of a Lifetime: The Autobiography of Cornell Woolrich 4.32/19
✔King of the World 3.83/6 (!!) Poor Celia!!
Thanks!

Yep. And I'm off on another author binge. I read Shoot the Piano Player for Blackjack and really liked it more than other noir writers I've read (except for Patricia Highsmith. I'm talking about the older classic noir from the 40's and 50's.) Right now I'm reading The Wounded and the Slain. I don't like it as well as Piano Player, but still I think Goodis's writing is really good for a genre writer. That might be because he was trained in journalism and had some clue about how to write.
ETA: And, he has been published by the Library of America: David Goodis: Five Noir Novels of the 1940s & 50s
Locking in these right away (this task is perfect for Norwegian literature and non-fiction!)The Sustainable(ish) Living Guide: Everything you need to know to make small changes that make a big difference (4.29/10)
The New Industrial Revolution: Consumers, Globalization and the End of Mass Production (3.83/82)
Monstermenneske (3.89/284)
In case I get to these: Miss Pinkerton 3.77/357
The Affacombe Affair 4/229
In Milady's Chamber 3.9/855
Last Chance for Murder 4.21/254
Inspector French's Greatest Case 3.77/247
John Thorndyke's Cases 3.88/248
The Murder on the Enriqueta 3.86/143
One by One They Disappeared 3.81/98
Well, now that I list the ratings/reviews I see why I got these as 'kindle deals' (either free or .99).
Yeah! I love this task!It looks like I don't have any on my list that are in danger either in number of reviews or rating :)
I have just one that has so few ratings that if one reader just hated it, I might have a problem.Zola: A Biography: 4.29/31
It might take me all season to read it. Long and fine print in a paperback edition. (And my shelves say "long term currently reading" which is another way of saying "set aside, but I'll get back to it". This was in 2014, and only 56 pages in, so I'll start over.)
I would like to lock in these books:The World's Greatest Short Stories by James Daley 3.77/546
The Great Silence: Britain from the Shadow of the First World War to the Dawn of the Jazz Age by Juliet Nicolson 3.88/861
The Black Presidency: Barack Obama and the Politics of Race in America by Michael Eric Dyson 3.96/508
Flanders by Patricia Anthony 4.22/217
Mud Creek Medicine: The Life of Eula Hall and the Fight for Appalachia by Kiran Bhatraju 4.00/51
Liberty's Blueprint: How Madison and Hamilton Wrote the Federalist, Defined the Constitution, and Made Democracy Safe for the World by Michael Meyerson 3.90/106
Just in case...The Missing American has 369 ratings and 3.81 average...putting here in case the average drops!
Please could I lock in these options:A Thousand Moons by Sebastian Barry (772 / 3.99)
Motherwell: A Girlhood by Deborah Orr (954 / 4.12)
The Science of Storytelling by Will Storr (885 / 4.11)
