when I was reading the first book I hated Rhys but honestly if you come out of the series shipping feylin then we can't be friends lmao

I've been pronouncing it like rice and and then rhys like reece

Feysand all the way. I am on the 3rd book of the series and haven't been able to bring myself to finish it yet. I love the series so much and don't want it to end.

At first I was Feylin and now I am fully committed to Feysand. Tamlin can F off because he is toxic. I want a Rhysand in my life. Ugh why can't real life romance be as powerful as fairytale romance.
The Mary Sue and Gary Stu can bugger off into the sunset and drink their Night Court Kool Aid until they choke on it, none of them deserves to be within 100 miles of Tamlin. This is my informed opinion after multiple reads of this infuriating series.
Okay, i just wanna point out something here, please dont kill me for saying it but isn´t this a bit unfair? It´s kinda obvious that Maas intended Fayesand to be the way to go, she actually nuked Tamlin writing the second book. I mean, if you read the first book, Tamlin is just good and it seems to fit. But in A Court Of Mist And Fury, she just pulls like infinite bad character traits for Tamlin out of her sleeve, making it impossible to actually like that poor guy anymore. And then Rhys comes along and is just perfect (for Faye). Like...am I the only one seeing it this way?

@jonsnow - I get what you mean but no 🤧😭 if you think back he was still toxic in the first book but then again you are right in that he was written to be a bad character
@meg - Was he? All I remember is the beautiful trip to that lake and him backing up when she doesn´t want his attention etc, even though his life depends on her falling in love with him. I could be wrong bc its been a while since i last read it but idk
@jonsnow no you do have a point it’s been a while since I read them but he did nothing when (SPOILER) she was killed by Amanthara and he did lock her up a lot 😂 the books have blurred together a bit tho
@meg - yeah true he did that "weak little human staying inside >:(" and she may have feeled mistreated there, all I wanted to point out that with ACOAMF Tamlin went from all in all wholesome and nice to abusive real fast and that with no given explanation whatsoever. One of the few parts of the book I think are poorly/not at all explained or reasonable and kinda random.btw I feel you, they just all merged together over time
@jonsnow yeah he definitely did! I feel like Tamlin was more of a plot point to move things along so she could be with rhys but at the same time I’m kinda like u gotta sow a few seeds of him being a dickhead in the first book for it to make sense later u know? 😂😂
Also, to be honest, even when I thought she was going to be with him the whole series, I never liked Tamlin. I don't know why! I just got this weird vibe from him, plus I always thought he was way too controlling! (and bland) I was really pleased after ACOMAF, because I felt like, "I WAS RIGHT, haha, suckers!" lol. I'm embarrassed to admit I actually did a happy dance when she basically dumped Tamlin. A HAPPY DANCE. Clearly I hate the guy.
Omg how? I finished acotar the day before yesterday and I didn't care for Tamlin once they were under the mountain. But at the last few pages I got very dissapointed, because I thought Tamlin was very cute (probably, because he told her he loves her so often. I'm weak for guys sharing their emotions). Anyway, I saw all over bookstagram that Feysand was a thing and I got a little sad, because I was rooting for Feyre and Tamlin so much. I want to read acomaf now, but I also kinda don't if you know what I mean xD.
So my question is...Is there going to be a veeeery good reason to like Rhysand over Tamlin in the sequals?

FEYSAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! obviously!!!!!! even in the 1st book [though i didnt like rhys then] there wasn't much chemistry between feyre and tamlin....
FEYSANDDD :) in book one i hated rhysand and loved feylin but now that i am in the third book I HATE TAMLIN AND LOVE RHYSAND AND FEYSANNDDD all the way!
Well, In the first book I liked Rhys but didn't see him suitable for Feyre, but after the second book and Tamlin's behavior towards Feyre. Feysand 4 life.
Hailey wrote: "I never really cared for Tamlin because he was very controlling from the start. Definitely Feysand."Okay, I've only read ACOTAR so far and probably shouldn't even be here considering one can't even glance at this page without seeing spoilers (but I kind of figured out from the Under the Mountain segment that she'd end up with Rhysand so that's not much of a spoiler), and there's undoubtedly a lot of character development later on that I haven't seen yet.
But...
Your accusation is that Tamlin is "controlling."
...Rhysand drugged her to make her unable to oppose his commands, used mind control to compel her to drink the wine that did so, and manipulated her into selling a week of her life every month. That's pretty controlling.
There's a lot I like about Rhysand's style. He actually fought to save Feyre while Tam just begged Amarantha to stop; he's tipped his hand about teaching Feyre to read while Tam never lifted a finger to do so; he went to Feyre's cell often to keep her strength up (even if infuriating her was the best way to do so) while Tamlin didn't even try to send her a message, and he does it all while still (quite convincingly) pretending not to give a damn as opposed to Tam who professed his love while doing nothing. But...
...in terms of "controlling," maybe things change in later books but so far, he's done far of that than Tamlin has.
Of course, given the somewhat cookie-cutter-romance-novel structure of the character interactions, given Feyre's oft-demonstrated attraction to men who not only have power over her but ruthlessly exercise it, and given the very obvious transfer of "Alpha status" in Feyre's eyes that came from seeing Tam grovel at Rhysand's feet and beg him not to tell Amarantha about Feyre, that controlling behavior was one of the main ways I knew Feyre would end up in Rhysand's bed by the time all was said and done.
But I digress.
I usually go for the first guy given because I can not handle the stress with love triangles. But I knew something was up when we first met Rhysand and I knew I'd like him a whole lot more. I was definitely right. I find it adorable how I thought I loved Tamlin compared to what feelings eventually formed for him later on.

HaHaHa Yes I totally agree I did like his ( Tamlin) character when we started getting to know him. But then when we did start to see his true colors I was like what girl no way come on we can do better. Then Rhys comes to help her give the support I was like okayy maybe this is the guy everyone's talking about. I just could handle the temper he ( Tamiln) had to lock Feyra up and treat her like she couldn't handle herself that she was some porcelain doll. No way I'm definitely on team Rhys he may have his moments but he does mean well at least so far that I've gotten to.
Rhysand and Feyre, Feyre didn't deserve the treatment Tamlin gave her 😪, then along came Rhys in the 1st book and I knew he was going to play a big role in Feyres life. Now here we are, Feyre the High Lady and Rhys the High Lord, loves out to Feyre for staying strong 💪 through staying with Tamlin 💙 #Rhys #Feyre
Definitely Feysand! Tamlin did NOT deserve that woman and I stand by that. Anyone who can ignore their partners suffering and blatant trauma from dying is trash period. Rhys devoted time and treated her like an individual and not a possession. Just from that alone he's better. He is selfless in the way he loves her and that's what everyone deserves from their partner.
Feysand is the only option here. Even though I sympathize for Tamlin, no one should ever believe in Feylin.
Feysand all the way. Tamlin throws temper tantrums and he is abusive both emotionally and physically. He also has no regard for Feyre's needs.

I think in the first ACOTAR book, Sarah was trying to give us some romance to work with throughout the book. But when Rhysand was introduced, Sarah started to show his true colors so we can have something like a love triangle. I do believe that he was always the way she discribed him in the later books, the entire time.

Okay so, HOW CAN PEOPLE SHIP FEYLIN?!!!!!!! Tamlin did a lot for Feyre and saved her mutiple times BUT He still did what we know he did. And I really get why Feyre's not able to forgive him. I mean, pretend you're in her position. After being locked up, manipulated and treated like a possession, wouldn't it be hard for you to forgive Tamlin? Not even a little bit?
Someone commented on a different post about High Fae magic. They said, and i quote, "So we all remember that chapter when they are in a hotel, and he is not allowed to used his magic. She can sense that sometbing is off, so she asks why he says *"When I am cannot use my magic, it can sometimes cause tense behavior and high stress levels"* or something along those lines. So by not allowing her to train her magic, and release it, Tamlin was actually slowly driving her insane, starving her, and treating her like s gosh dang pet! It honestly got annoying throughout, i think the first half of the book maybe. Before Under the Mountain. And he just sat on his ass, by Aramantha's side, not doing anything to help her! Which honestly pushed me over the edge from there. Before that, I had always held onto a tiny string of hope that Feylin would work out, but after that, I was already sailing far into the sea on the Feysand boat#rhyise4ever
