The Targaryens were a Valyrian family of dragon riders that had survived the destruction of their people's civilization by having moved to the distant outpost of Dragonstone. Centuries later, Aegon the Conqueror decided to unify the seven squabbling kingdoms of Westeros under his sole rule. Much of Westerosi society, from that point onwards, was due to what Aegon and his descendants did. Some was bad, yet some was good. Is the whole family to blame for the actions of a few that were either mad or just evil? Can you sympathize with the ones that truly did right by the people of Westeros?
