Viyana walked into her dorm and began unpacking. She finished decorating and set up her bookshelf.
Her purple eyes flashed silver momentarily when she picked up a notebook, and she opened it to see a new journal entry documenting her journey here, her observations, her goals, and so on. She smiled, despite the slight headache from the magic in imparting that knowledge.

Chyra leaped up onto the bed, purring. "Chyra, stop that," Viyana ordered. "Get down here." Chyra slunk down, rubbing her head against Viyana's arm. "Not your bed," she scolded her panther gently, stroking her fur. "That one's yours." She pointed at the cozy nest of blankets on the floor. Chyra huffed at Viyana and plopped onto her bed, purring.

Viyana sat down on her bed, looking over her bookshelf. She hid her notebook in between two large fantasy books, and stretched onto her toes to see the top shelf. All the books she'd brought were brand-new and unread. She had absorbed every other book from before coming, and didn't want to reread any.
She tugged down a new book, a mystery, and laid her hand on the cover. "First five chapters," she muttered. Her eyes turned silver for a moment as she absorbed the text from the book -- mentally, of course. The book was still physically unopened.
Viyana winced at a slightly sharper pain behind her eyes. Her headache was forming now. She shook it off, knowing that it was a light pain. She'd once collapsed from her magic, but only after going through the whole first floor of a library.

Viyana put her book back, wincing at a pain in her stomach. At first she thought it might be a side effect of her magic, though she hadn't used all that much. Then her stomach growled, and she relaxed. "I'm hungry," she said to Chyra, shrugging on a loose, oversize charcoal-gray sweater and tight black leggings. She tied back the front strands of her black-purple hair. "Want to come find some food?" Chyra purred again and stretched, unfurling to her feet. Well, paws. She padded to the door eagerly. "Let's go," Viyana smiled, and left.
Viyana walked back in, extremely full from the bakery sweets she'd had. She'd eaten so many.
Chyra padded back in, purring contentedly. "Good girl," Viyana smiled at her panther. Chyra hopped up on the bed and curled up in Viyana's lap.

Viyana sighed and stood, throwing Chyra off her. Chyra gave an annoyed yelp and growl, which Viyana just laughed off. "Let's go explore," she said to her panther. "I should probably exercise, since I ate so many pastries." She didn't feel guilty at all, but she was way too full. She held open the door, and Chyra padded out ahead.
