Mathia looks at the candy apples. They looked so delicious. She had once seen a peacekeeper eating a candy apple, mmmmh it had looked so good. Oh how much she would like just a little bite......She reaches out to grab an apple, but Ellen catches her hand. "We can't trust anything the Capital puts here." She tells Mathia sharply.

Everyone there felt very, very hungry.

"But I'm so hungry!" Mathia begs. Oh how mouth watering the apples looked. "Then have some of the food I picked up at the cornucopia, they wouldn't poison that, but all other food is fair game." Ellen tells her.
Mathia gazes sadly at the dried jerky and crackers Ellen offered her. She ate some, the jerky was way too salty and had no other taste and the crackers were stale. Such a big difference then the delicious candy apples. Oh she had always wanted to try candy apples!
Ellen ate some of the food she had gotten from the cornucopia. She had had worse, and there was no way she was letting any of them touch the candy apples.
They wouldn't poison any food would they? Mathia thinks. After all, they want us to kill each other, not die of poison. ((Oh how little Mathia knew how many tributes had already died horribly to satisfy the Capitals thirst for blood! ((following the all tributes who are never played are treated like they die in the bloodbath rules.))))

Mathia looks at her irritably. After all, the Capital wouldn't poison the apples for the same reason that they wouldn't let the reflection kill her, they wanted a show. Poisons were boring. All the poisons she had seen made you just die. Sometimes the poisons would cause people to slowly fall asleep, and then die, or vomit, and then die, and often what the poison was doing to you was interesting to learn about to the educated mind, but the capital didn't want interesting, they wanted dramatic, they wanted excitement, they didn't want someone to die boringly of poison. Her eyes strayed back to the apples."Promise me that you will not eat the apples." Ellen demanded.
"I promise." Mathia said, very reluctantly.
Ellen walks over to Faith. "Be careful of Sunny." Ellen tells her. "Those candy apples are probably poisoned."Mathia makes a face, and notices that, temporarily at least, Ellen's gaze is off her. Quickly she snatches a candy apple and holds it in her hand. Oh what a luxurious sheen! Oh how shiny. Mathia licks her lips and and gazes at the apple in her hand, before lifting it towards her mouth.

Mathia immediately fells sick and weak.
Mathia stumbles and hits the ground, so dizzy and weak that she cannot move. "Mathia!" Ellen turns around as she hears Rena's bark, but it is too late, Mathia is already laying on the ground, poisoned. "Oh you foolish child!" Ellen sobs. "I told you they were poisoned". She fumbles through Mathia's first aid kit, but she doesn't know what any of the medicines do. "Which should I give her?" Ellen cries desperately to the world in general, hoping someone hears her who knows what the cure for the poison is.
((Note: She is not dead yet and I have an idea on how I want her to finally die, so please don't kill her while I'm off. I should be back on tomorrow afternoon or evening.))

It occurs to Ellen that Mathia knows about medicine, and probably, also about poison's and their cures. "What is the cure," she asks Mathia. "Nnn" Mathia tries to reply, but her mouth his to dry, her lips are too heavy.
Ellen dumps out the first aid kit, and spreads all the vials out for Mathia to see. "Which one is it, which one should I give you?"
Mathia starts to point, but her arm is so heavy. It flops down by her side. She can't even lift her head. Slowly her eyes fall shut.
"No," Ellen cries, she grabs several vials and dumps the contents into her hand, ready to stuff some into Mathia's mouth, but she hesitates, she remembers that when she hit random buttons to try and help Cris it made things worse. But Mathia was breathing so weak, even doing something that may make it worse was better then doing nothing and just letting her die. Ellen stuffs the pills into Mathia's mouth.
But her moments hesitation is one moment too long, with the fatal poison flowing through her veins, Mathia takes one final breath, and dies. A cannon shot echoes over the arena.
"No, no, no, no." Ellen whispers. What kind of team leader was she, when two of her her teammates died on her watch because she performed the wrong actions, her Aunt Maggie would never have made these mistakes. Ellen curls up into a ball and sobs.
"I should have been able to save her, I should have been able to save both of them." Ellen sobs. "I'm the worst leader in the world."

Ellen pulls Rena closer to her. "I should have known that Mathia would eat the apple the second my back was turned." Ellen sobs. "Not a single one of my cousins back home would have been able to resist it, but I trusted Mathia to be more mature then anyone else her age simply because she knows about first aid and medicine."

((Ellen doesn't blame other people, only herself. )) Ellen smiles sadly at her. "You would be a much better leader then I am, you knew to watch Mathia, and I bet you knew that Cris shouldn't sit on the Drop too."

Ellen smiles at Rena and stands up, wallowing in self pity wasn't going to get them anywhere. Ellen took stock of everyone left. Faith, Sunny, herself, and Rena, though Rena really didn't count. Ellen sighs. The capital it seemed was going to win, this time they would win. But not forever, someday soon the capital would fall. Ellen takes a deep breath. She needed to lay the groundwork for the Capital's destruction before her inveritable death.

Ellen scoops Rena up and walks over to Faith. "Can you get Sunny? I think we should probably get moving, before anything else happens." ((Cue something interesting happening, I still have Ellen to kill off after all. :) ))

Ellen's face becomes sterner. "Get behind me," she says, pushing Faith and Sunny up against the booth. She drops Rena to the ground and throws her knife with deadly strength and accuracy at the stuffed animals, aiming to peg two with one throw.

During the midst of it all, a screen appears in the sky, showing the dead tributes. Cris, Mathia, etc.
