Garin A truly magical book. I have requested Prousts “In search of lost time” to read during my own partial isolation as I remain on furlough from work.

Andrew Tucker Glad you are finding something productive to do on furlough Garin. I just hit the halfway mark where Aomame has the big confrontation with Leader. Somehow I think its gonna get weird now....(in a good way!)

Garin My selection is in reference to a moment that you’ll soon learn :) and yes things are about to take quite the turn. Have fun!

Andrew Tucker I finished up this week. I dont remember the last time it took me more than 2 weeks to finish a book and it never felt like a slog, I really enjoyed it from end to end.

We really go in a different direction in book 3 and I was surprised at how much different it was. I really liked the focus on the Ushikawa characters obsession with tracking Aomame and Tengo and how it ended for him in the confrontation with Tamaru.

So many things were left unresolved...as usual for Murakami but it seemed like a lot more than usual in this one. The discussion questions at the end of the book could easily result in a different interpretation for every reader.

I liked that it ended in a love story on a positive note...it was definitely a great way to wrap up hopefully Aomame and Tengo have a happy future together.
