This is a mystery that I read long before I became addicted to audiobooks. Ngaio Marsh is one of the less known great dames of the classic British mystery. This one was originally published in 1938. It’s the sixth book of the Roderick Alleyn detective series. It’s the first one to introduce the detective’s love interest, the artist, Agatha Troy. The book has great atmosphere, interesting (if stereotyped) characters, and two diabolical murders. I enjoyed this ‘reread’ audio performance. I only wish Philip Frank read all of the books in the series and that they were all available.
