At some point in the story, Autumn and Lizzie are approaching Judith's house; "Autumn could feel stark coldness radiating from one of the upper-floor rooms...".
There are may places in the book where the presence of evil is described in similar ways. Do you think this is real? Have you ever felt something similar?
What about the way we feel negative energy, is this comparative?

I have a friend who insists that she can feel the presence of evil. This could be in a person or place. Do I believe in this? I'm a bit of a skeptic. However, I do think that places and people can have a feel about them; I think characterizing the way a person or place feels to us as negative or positive can be complicated and that feeling could be caused by a lot of indiscernible traits.
Anyhow, I think how negative energies are characterized in fiction are interesting and I enjoyed that part of this book.
