This book is extremely relevant today. In it Ibram X Kendi does a very good job of defining racism and other terms. He speaks of his own life where he includes biases that he needed to address and overcome. He discussed how his personal experiences growing up have affected and helped shape him. He is clear as to what is racism and what is anti-racism. He addresses power, as well as, economic benefits of actions and polices. He looks to see if they create inequality. He also has his readers look at themselves. Staying silent or doing nothing to stop racism is not enough and those who say they are not racist are often wrong. The book has a lot of information and stories, but it is a serious subject that we can all learn from.

I got a lot out of this book. I was hoping for more ideas on the policies and practices that can help reduce structural racism. I know some of the things employers can do differently (especially human resources), but there may be small changes that we could all make in our work lives, with some training and support.
