You mentioned your interest in readathons. I've never actually arranged a readathon before... Would you like to be in charge of that?

We could do a fall-themed one.

Yes! We should. I've organized a few readatthons before, they are really fun.

Awesome! If we do a fall-themed readathon, we could do books that are orange or red or yellow or brown.... or books that take place in fall... If you have a better theme idea, please tell me! I'm horrible at this.

no you're doing great!! we could do a one or two week-long readathon towards the end of the month so people have time to prepare for it. should we do a points system where you get, say, 10 points for reading a book set in fall?

Great idea! That makes sense. We could make a topic where people could post their total number of points and the books they read. And, of course, send out a message about the readathon.

yes! and in another group I'm in, the moderators have a spreadsheet where they record points for everyone, so if you'd like we can do that after we've figured out some more prompts.

The prompts I've thought of so far:

1. Read a book with a cover that is fall-themed or reminds you of fall.
2. Read a book set in fall.
3. Read a book with a festivity for a fall holiday. (Halloween, thanksgiving...)

Also, should I make a topic for mod questions, if anyone has a question about the group?

Yeah, sure! You can put it in this folder. Title it "Questions" or whatever sounds good.

Great prompts! Is there a way to make the creator of the spreadsheet anonymous?

Sounds great! Maybe we should keep the tally here on Goodreads for privacy purposes.

Sure! That sounds best. We could have a whole discussion tab for the readathon and have different topics such as:

readathon sign-up
readathon chat
readathon tbrs
Readathon point log (so this can be where anyone who is participating updates when they have more points)
readathon point tracker (we can be the only people who write on here to tally everyone's points)

idk if you want to make it a bigger event like that or we could just have one topic we could do it on.

Yes! I've never done a message before, could I do that? You could do it if you want to, though. Because I'm not sure how to do it.

Of course! You click Members, and scroll down to "broadcast a message to all members." Tell them we'll put the topics up soon.

also, maybe you could start getting the sign up discussion ready while I broadcast the message, that way people can sign up as soon as they want. If you don't have time right now, I can set that up as soon as I finish the message.
