I loved the historical elements, with all the photos and extracts of the actual crime. For a true crime fanatic like me, the book was an amazing blend of the actual crime and a good story.

yes, i agree! i love true crime and after finishing this book i literally started researching more about jack the ripper and his murders. even tho i don't really read murder mysteries a lot, i still love them and i always have a good time trying to figure out who the murderer is. in this book i sadly guessed who was the murdered and that's kinda the only reason i rated this book 4 starts and not 5. i like being surprised! although i find it quite satisfying when i guess lol.

☀︎El In Oz☀︎ (elinoz) Idk for me it got so unrealistic and stupid the final reveal. And I just.... idk with such awful crimes and having that as the solution/the reason just sat wrong with me.
The romance was off for me as well. Audrey Rose was Also super annoying.
Overall I adore true crime but this turned into such a weird ending that I couldn’t take seriously. And it just didn’t sit well with me ig. Overall 3 stars and I read the sequel which was 3.5 and mainly I had the same issues

i understand why you say that... i've heard some many good thinsg baiut the romance and it wasn't nearly as good as i expected it to be.

and tbh it's been a year since i read the first book and i'm kinda scared to pick up the sequel since i heard that the romanian geographic representation stuff is not the best... and since i'm romanian i would for sure spot the geographical mistakes..
