Have you read any good books in the last month or two?

I need to read The Wonder Boy of Whistle Shop because I loved Fried Green Tomatoes.

I loved The Sittaford Mystery. A lot of people didn't but I did. And also liked The Nine Tailors. In my humble opinion it's a great read.

I haven't. I haven't read anything for months... I've fallen off the bandwagon and need to climb back on.

I do that once in a while too Gem. The books will be there when you're ready.

Oh, I know. It's rather frustrating for me because a few years back when I actually started using Goodreads for me than just looking at the summary of a book I realized how much I missed. I did my junior year of high school then got my GED. I missed a lot of the classics. I decided I was going to read/listen to two books a week. I generally listen to the classics because I struggle with the archaic and flowery language. I can easily listen to something I just can't push myself to read. So I figured if I listen to one classic a week and read one contemporary books a week I'll make progress. I did it a couple of years but haven't made the progress I wanted to. I also am trying to get through 1001 Children's Books and Boxall's 1001 (although I don't think I be able to do all of that list, some of those books are not rated well). AND I'm getting old... I've only got so many years left, rofl.

Meh, soon we'll have a new year and hopefully, I'll get back on track.

Barbara K I've been fortunate to read a number of really good books in recent weeks, both fiction and non-fiction. I just finished Malice Aforethought, which I adored. Although it is about as far from that in the crime genre as possible, I felt just as strongly about Claire DeWitt and the Bohemian Highway. Somewhere in the middle of those two was Murder Being Once Done. And I finished the last in the Smiley series, A Legacy of Spies. le Carre never lets me down.

On the non-fiction side, I can't say enough good things about Sea People: The Puzzle of Polynesia.
