Completion Post:Just finished reading: "City of the Plague God" by Sarwat Chadda (★★★★☆), it is a mythology/urban fantasy middle-grade novel. It stars thirteen-year-old Iraqi-American Sikander “Sik” Aziz must stop the ancient Mesopotamian plague god Nergal from raining destruction and pestilence on New York City.
Chadda has created a wonderful narrative filled with fast-paced action and heavy doses of humor, this Gilgamesh-inspired novel benefits from a well-developed secondary cast. The touching exploration of adolescent grief, and the strong connections between Sik and his parents, provide additional nuance and depth.
I read the next installment in a graphic novel series I had started in 2020 Fun YA with a Muslim teenage girl as the MC.
Ms. Marvel, Vol. 2: Generation Why by G. Willow Wilson

Swing by Kwame Alexander with Mary Rand Hess. I don't know what "with" means here, and I think Hess is White, but taken literally, the prompt requires only one AOC, and Alexander meets that requirement.
Everything I Needed to Know about Being a Girl I Learned from Judy Blume has multiple authors. Three of them fit this category: Berta Platas, Kayla Perrin, and Cara Lockwood.
I could have used so many of my reads for this category, but this book didn't neatly fit into any of the other prompts, and I really enjoyed it. I read The Office of Historical Corrections by Danielle Evans
