Yu-Gi-Oh! RP discussion

(This is the Shadow Realm, where duelists are sent if they lose a Shadow Game)

Mariku stretched out casually as he looked around at the swirling Shadows. *Looks like nobody's here,* he mused to himself, vaguely annoyed. *Maybe I should go look for my weaker half, or something.*

Doc steps out of the shadows. "I am here." He said. "Care to duel?"

Mariku looked sideways at him. *You purposely came to a place like this,* he asked incredulously, *just to duel somebody?*

But a slow grin twisted his face. It looked almost painful, as he gave a sharp bark of laughter. *Sounds like fun!*

Doc shrugs. "Why else would one come here?" He activates his duel disk.

He frowned slightly as he shuffled his deck. *Some of us don't have a choice.*

"I see." Doc said, and drew a hand. "Would you mind if I went first?"

*Sure.* He slid his deck into duel disk and stood by, somewhat impatiently. *...*

"I'll summon one face down monster In defense mode," Doc said, "I'll also place two face down cards. That ends my turn."

He drew his first card, glancing at it for the briefest of moments his eyes darted back to his apartment. They narrowed slightly as he swept his arm in an arc, slamming his card into place. *I summon my Granadora, in attack mode!*

The monster appeared before him, shrieking with excitement. Mariku grinned. *Let's start things off with a bang. Granadora, destroy his facedown monster!*

Granadora seemed almost to shriek in agreeement, as it dashed at the facedown card.

Mariku's LP: 8000

"My monster was Bunilla!" Doc shouted. "This monster's defense points are 2050, opposed to your monster's 1900 attack points! You lose 150 life points!"

*What?!* Mariku yelped, as his life points shot down. *No way!*

((I wanted to see if your character wanted to say anything else first, but yes.))

((kay.))

"Next," Doc said, "I'll play Madolche Buttlerusk! I'll also activate my spell mega boost, doubling my butler's attack. Now, Buttlerusk attack."

Mariku looked sharply down at his field, as though expecting a trap card to be waiting for him. But his field was empty, and there weren't any cards he could play from his hand to defend himself.

The attack hit him full on, dropping his life points by 3000. *Gah!* he screamed, then glared at his opponent. Muscles pulsated through his face, warping it slightly as he growled, *Lucky shot. It won't happen again.*

((It's your turn.))

((I know. Again, I wanted to see if your character was going to respond to what he just said.))

Mariku grumbled under his breath as he drew his next card.

'...I'll need some defense,' he thought to himself after a moment, calming enough to focus on his hand. 'I need to place some monsters on the field.'

*I'll summon two facedown monsters and a spell/trap card,* he finally announced. *Then I end my turn.*

Field: M- 2 facedown, S/T- 1 facedown

Graveyard: Granadora

"Now then," Doc said, "I'll play WattCobra (ATK/1000 DEF/600)! This monster can automatically bypass your defenses and attack your life points directly! Attack, WattCobra!"

*No!* he bellowed, but his life points dropped yet again.

((Does he end his turn?))

((Not yet.))

"Your life points have dropped to 3850," Doc said. "You might as well give up now. I'll place two face-own cards, and end my turn."

Monster : Bunilla (Defense Madolche Buttlerusk (Attack) Wattcobra (Attack.)
Facedowns : two spell/magic/trap cards.
Hand : 2

*Not a chance!*

Mariku quickly drew his next card, but his expression twisted again when he looked down at it. 'Damn! Of all the rotten luck...!'

He looked over his hand again, before turning to those already on the field. He hesitated a moment, looking between his monsters and his traps, before focusing his attention on the prior.

*... I'll place another monster facedown on the field, and then I'll reveal my Morphing Jar!*

The jar appeared before him, swallowing up both opponent's hands. *Now we draw 5 new cards. And while we do so, I'm going to go ahead and reveal my other monster, Cyber Jar. All monsters on the field get destroyed!*

As the monsters shattered, Mariku added his new cards to his hand. After he looked them over, he went ahead and began to flip up the next 5 cards in his deck.

"Well, well." Doc said, "I see your trying to win. To bad it won't work. As you can see, you've left your field wide open. I'll play Elemental Hero Captain Gold! (ATK/2100 DEF/800) Then I'll play one more face-down card and end my turn by attacking you directly! Captain Gold, Attack!"

His violet eyes flared with outrage. *Hold it!* Mariku scowled, holding up one hand to stop the attack. *I never said that I ended my turn. After all, you haven't shown me the five cards at the top of your deck yet!*

Before revealing his own five cards, Mariku motioned to his graveyard. *The other monster that I had facedown on the field was my Twin-Headed Behemoth. Because of its effect, I can bring it back to the field during my second main phase. I choose to summon him in attack mode!*

Grinning in his usual twisted manner, Mariku finally revealed his top five cards: Bowganian, Plasma Eel, and Newdoria. The last two were his Legendary Fiend and his Lava Golem. His smile faltering slightly, he reshuffled them back into his deck.

*... I place my three new monsters on the field in defense, and then I end my turn. Show me your new cards, and then you can take your turn.*

((What the hell are you going in about?! First of all, I'm not attacking. Second of all, there are TWO main phases. And lastly, that's Cyber Jar's effect!!!))

((Oh yeah. But doesn't that mean I get to summon monsters like that to?))

((Yes. That's why Mariku told him to show him his cards and then take his turn. =_=))

((... Am I going to get a friggin apology for you YELLING at me because YOU made assumptions?))

Doc showed his 5 cards. Gravi-Crush Dragon, two Dust Tornados, Madolche Chickates, Thunder Mitsumi, and Chain Whirlwind.

((Hey, I'm perfectly in my right to be me mad about that. You automatically jumped to the conclusion that I didn't know how to duel. Would you be insulted if somebody did that to you, and you had been dueling for almost 5 years?))

Mariku nodded solemnly, glancing over his own hand to see if he'd be able to counter any of them. His expression twisting slightly, he glanced back up at his opponent. *Your move then. Summon your chocolate to the field so we can get this over with.*

For some reason he seemed slightly uneasy. Strange, considering that he still had plenty of lifepoints left...

((I said sorry! And Gravi-Crush dragon is a monster too, so do I summon him?))
