Azure sat on a stone in the Summer Palace, glancing up at the canopy above. She twisted her woven seaweed bracelet around on her arm for a moment, then spread her wings and flew up to the library, where a few lonely looking scrolls stood in racks. Azure took a scroll out of one of the racks and unrolled it, starting to read
Azure heard a noise and glanced up, fear stirring in her chest. 'What if it's a Mudwing? WHAT IF IT'S A SKYWING?!' she wondered anxiously, getting to her feet. "What am I supposed to do?" she whispered. She wished her sister Siren was there, but she had gone out hunting. Azure's wings shook with fear as she glanced in the direction of the noise, hardly daring to breath. She relaxed slightly when she saw a dragon with gray-blue scales, though she was still wary
Swallow gulped. Why oh why did she have to come here to catch fish. There was always the possibility she would get eaten by the dragons especially out in the open. Only comfort she found was that her vessel was painted grey and looked like a rock with a hand-powered propeller.
Azure shifted on her talons, unsure of what to do. 'Should I talk to her? Or just stay here and not do anything?' she wondered anxiously. Azure shook her head and turned away from the gray-blue dragon. As she walked away her wing hit a scroll rack, sending it clattering to the ground. Azure froze, panic in her eyes. "What am I going to do?" she whispered, glancing at the dragon below her. She froze, noticing a small creature in a little vessel. "What is that?" she wondered, her attention moving away from the gray-blue dragon
((Swallow is a scavenger))
Swallow let loose some nets and lines. She knew the drill and was to only catch fish and if she was lucky, a dragon. She looked through the window of her vessel and saw the dragon staring at her.
"I am so dead," She thought.

Azure watched in surprise as the little creature cast some nets. 'How is it doing that? It's acting kinda like a dragon, actually.' Azure thought, getting lost in her thoughts. She blinked and found the little creature staring at her, a look of fear on its face. "Oh no, did I scare it?" she wondered aloud, shifting on her talons
"I am so dead," Swallow swallowed hard. (LOL). She looked around slowly, trying to figure out what she could use in defense. She learned from the other WingWatchers that dragons would definitely go after something that was moving. She slowly reached her hand to take a waterlogged crossbow with waterlogged bolts.
"Sea dragon by the look of it," Swallow said to herself, breathing heavily but trying to move as little as possible,"No fire, but teeth and talons are still deadly. Also can create giant waves with the splash of their tails."

Azure continued to stare at the strange creature. "What is it?" she wondered. She noticed the creature was holding something in its hands. That something, to be exact, was a crossbow. Azure yelped and leaped into the air, beating her wings to stay out of range of the crossbow.
"What?" Swallow though making a face,"Why is she acting like that?" She raked her brain to figure out an explanation for this. She saw the dragon looked quite young and..."
"Oh no," Swallow thought,"Is she going to dive and capsize the vessel?"
"Oh no," Swallow thought,"Is she going to dive and capsize the vessel?"
Azure flapped her wings for a few more moments, then landed gently on the ground. An idea came to her. After a pause she held out her talons to show the creature that she was harmless. "I won't hurt you." she said quietly, trying to keep her voice calming so the little creature wouldn't freak out and shot her with the crossbow
"What?" Swallow looked skeptical,"If you think I am going to climb on your talon and give you an easy meal then you are mistaken."
She decided it was a weird SeaWing hunting behavior that the WingWatchers didn't track and stood her ground, trying to make herself look bigger.

Azure tilted her head, then took a few steps back and sat down, staring at the little creature with curiosity and a little confusion

The dragon was right in front of her. A large target with little chance of missing the weak areas.
“I am keeping that dragon from eating me,” She mouthed the words to herself,”I wonder how many humans have done that? And I am doing it with a weapon I do not know how to accurately shoot with.”
Swallow decided not to shoot at the moment, since if the dragon found out that she couldn’t fire the crossbow accurately (or if the waterlogged part turned out to have a great effect on the accuracy) then the dragon would go after her and...

Azure wrapped her tail around her talons, still watching the little creature with amazement. She noticed that the nets the creature had cast were full of fish and pointed with a claw at the nets, trying to tell the creature to check them
“These dragons act like humans,” Swallow muttered to herself,”She wants me to check on the nets so that I lower my crossbow and she is able to safely eat me.”
Swallow saw the abundance of fish in the net. She had an idea. The nets were filled with so many fish. She held the crossbow with one hand while she attempted to pull the net up.

Azure sat watching the creature for a moment, noticing that it didn't put down the crossbow. 'Why not? I'm not going to hurt it.' she thought. She paused, then scooped up the net in her talons and set it down in front of the creature, trying to show she wanted to help
Swallow freaked out and squeezed her finger, but her finger slipped from the trigger and didn't shoot the bolt. She skittered backwards as the dragon's talons placed the net in front of her. She looked at the dragon as she slowly walked closer to the net. She used one hand to put the fish out of their misery, having pulled out a knife. She checked her catch, aware the dragon was looking at her. Swallow kept an eye on the dragon for any strange behavior.
Azure watched the creature for another few moments. Then a thought suddenly hit her. "What if there's a scroll about it in the library?" she wondered aloud, getting to her feet. Azure spread her wings and soared up to the library, immediately starting to look through the scrolls
Swallow sighed with relief. She turned her boat away and started to row (or paddle) farther away from the Summer Palace. She was going to remember to never again go that far away from the east shore.
Azure searched the shelves. After a few minutes she found the scroll she was looking for. "A scavenger." she breathed, her eyes bright with excitement. The drawing on the scroll was exactly like the creature she'd seen. Azure finished reading the scroll and looked for the scavenger, but she couldn't see it. "Where did it go?" she wondered aloud. After a few moments she spotted the scavenger in a small boat, rowing away from the Summer Palace

Swallow looked back. She judged she was a safe distance from the palace. She checked the waters for signs of dragons or sharks, and let her nets down. She caught a good amount of fish the first round of her catches, and identified most of them, including ones she was supposed to let back into the wild. Her anti-dolphin-turtle-whale-trapping net did help in her identification. She only caught fish (which was a good thing).

Swallow accidentally bumped some unknown object. Whatever it was it made a bright flash. Swallow frantically looked around, trying to see a dragon nearby.
"Was I spotted?" she wondered breathing hard.

Azure continued watching the scavenger. After a few minutes she saw a bright flash in the water near it, and saw the scavenger look around frantically. "Was that a dragon?" Azure wondered aloud, flicking her tail

Swallow realized she set off a flare. She searched frantically to see if she was seen. She ran to the edge of the vessel and looked in the waters, but came across a nail that stuck out of the wood. She hissed through her teeth as blood trickled down her hand.
Azure continued watching for another minute or two, but when no dragons leaped out of the water to eat the scavenger she relaxed and turned back to the scrolls
Swallow pulled up the net (doing it’s job with only catching fish) and let the small ones run free back into the water. “They may not have long to live” Swallow thought bitterly,”With all these dragons around here.”
Swallow saw a dragon flying off the shore. She ducked in the boat and slowly paddled away from the dragon. Unluckily, she didn’t look where she was going and was traveling back to the Summer Palace.
The water shook. The vessel rocked. The heavy nets and object slid. Swallow tried to keep everything together, but in her haste, dug a knife under a board and ripped the board off. The board flew into the ocean. Swallow took as many rags as she could and plugged the hole up as best she could.
"I really hope there is land nearby," Swallow said and looked around. She gulped. The only land in sight was the land around the dragon den. She paddled furiously to it, looking trying to make herself unnoticeable to the leaping dragon.

Swallow realized she was spotted. She took up her crossbow, wondering how this dragon would react. She did not like how loud this dragon was. It may alert others and then she would have zero chance of survival.
Swallow at first thought the dragon was going to attack. Then in her mind she connected the dragon's movements to those movements that human police tell people to do.
"Just because some dragon behavior matches human behavior, doesn't mean that all do." Swallow told herself. Swallow tried to make herself look bigger, and kept the crossbow pointed at the dragon.

Swallow's hands were wet. From sweat or from the waterlogged crossbow she did not know. She was about to pull the trigger when the dragon crouched down, but remembered the now-very-waterlogged-crossbow may not be accurate. This allowed her to stop and look at the dragon.
"Why is the dragon acting like I am showing dominance?" She thought, because that was the only thing that she thought of, when she saw the body position, "Or is this a baby and doesn't know how to pounce properly?"

“I do not have time for your games,” Swallow said exasperated,”Fly off and leave me alone so I can find something to repair my boat.” Swallow took her nets of fish and shoved them away, hoping the dragon would be interested in those.
Swallow exaggerated her movements. She used one hand to point to the dragon, then she took a fish and pretended to eat it, and then pointed to the nets of fish “Hopefully I will be able to catch more,” She thought. She repeated the gesture then tried to tell it “You, Eat, Fish.”
Azure looked up from her scroll, thinking she'd heard someone yelling her name. Not Siren, she's out hunting and wouldn't be back yet, Azure thought. She looked out over the Summer Palace and spotted distinctive mint-green wings. Oh, it's Lilypond, she though with a small smile. She put the scroll she'd been reading away and flew down to Lilypond, landing beside her with a small thump. "Hey Lilypond." Azure said with a small smile
"Nothing works as well as food," Swallow thought to herself. She picked up some valuables (weapons and food) and snuck past the two dragons, looking for something to repair her boat with.
Swallow looked back and tripped on a stray piece of driftwood. She thrashed and the driftwood flew up high.
Reef emerged from the water his wings tucked in. He landed almost on the scavenger he scooped swallow up with his talons.
"Goodbye sweet world," Swallow whispered, "There is no way I am getting out of this alive."
"Might as well get started on my will," Swallow thought, "Maybe the law will make an exception."
Swallow took a piece of paper from her satchel and a stub of pencil and started to write.

(Maybe. It may be tricky since Swallow is a WingWatcher, but maybe a close friend?)
Swallow realized what the dragon was doing.
“Would a dragon kill a human by poisoning it? But then wouldn’t the dragon get poisoned since they do not cook their food often?” Swallow thought. She took the mango and the gem and heaved them next to her. She nibbled on the mango, and then slowly started to eat it, looking up at the opening of the pouch wearily.
