We actually read that one sometime last year! It was in the early-ish days of COVID, if I remember correctly, so it kinda got overshadowed lol

Sorry, I was active in the first readings but I was disconnected for a long time. thank you!
I want to suggest Herland by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It's a utopian novel from 1915 that looks at a society made up entirely of women, who also happen to be vegetarian! It's been on my list for a long time.
Another book I've been thinking about is My Year of Meats. I read it over the summer - there are vegan (or maybe it was vegetarian) characters, and it deals with the beef industry.

it's been on my list for the longest time and it's really short - I don't know why I haven't read it yet!

Herland sounds good. I've read The Yellow Wallpaper so would be keen to read more of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's work.
Hi, you guys! I just joined. I'd like to suggest the magnificent novel Barn 8. I work at an indie bookstore and handsell it all the time! I'm also a poet, and one of my books is all about animals, but don't know if you guys are into poetry. if you're interested, you can check it out :) It's called "Kind": 978-1-59056-639-8

Next month, we're reading Esther the Wonder Pig, the runner-up from January's poll.
In the meantime, share your suggestions for March's group read!
