Ah you made my day with these quotes thank you. Anyways, It looks like i might be one of the few people who loved this book lmao. I read it at the beginning of the month, so i don't remember the details or anything specific about it, but i know that i instantly fell in love with the characters. They were all so, so amazing and sarcastic and just overall well developed. I loved the relationships they had with each other and their friendships, though Kye often had me rolling my eyes at his overprotectiveness for Elian. I have to admit the plot was...well i mean it wasn't anything unique, I've read almost identical plots like this one so it isn't anything special. As i said before, this book isn't very serious. It's a short and light read i very much enjoyed:')

I liked the characters too and their relationships were really well built, but to me, the plot is a lot more important yk? I'm very glad you enjoyed it though :))

There aren't really any "rules" to this, but basically, I'm just gonna talk about what I thought about the book here and y'all can post your thoughts in the comments. And then we can all reply to each other.

I gave this book 1.5/5 stars. Yeah, it was BAD. I didn't want to read it all month because of how slow the beginning was. I am someone who will DNF books within the first couple chapters if it isn't fast-paced, but I continued reading anyway. I felt like the book, overall, was pretty slow.
I was 200ish pages in and was literally thinking "All they've done is sailed on a boat. That's it." It seemed like there was not much going on till the end. And speaking of the end, can someone explain what happened in the last 70ish pages? Like I am genuinely so confused. I finished the book, yet I have no clue what I just read.
But if there's one part of the book I liked, it's the characters. I think Lira was such a bad b and I loved her personality. I also loved Elian, Kye, and Madrid. They were all such loyal people and their connection felt real.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from To Kill A Kingdom:
"I didn't tell my family about my engagement. I'm saving that for after I get myself killed." -Elian, page 81. (I love his sarcasm and dry sense of humor so much lmao)
"Would you kindly allow me and my pirate crew to borrow one of the world's most powerful sources of magic for a few days? After I kill my immortal enemy, I promise I'll bring it right back." -Elian, page 85. (See? Again, with the sarcasm)
"Heads you lose, tails I win." -Kye, page 138. (This is so clever)
"I don't give a damn about your little war with the octobitch." -Rycroft, page 215. (LMAOO this was so funny)
"She lifts her rum from the table with a slow and steady hand. 'Just so we understand each other,' she says, swirling the goblet indifferently, 'I'm not his lady.' " -Lira, page 217. (uhh YESSS we love queen energy!!)
