As I slowly make a start at trying to categorize some of our wonderful discussions that share so many valuable tips (this group is about sharing Tips) so it's easier to find stuff, I am noticing quite a bit of author spam.
Really, daily announcements on every thread about the same new release is not a shared "tip".

Readers and editors buy books from writers whom they like and trust. It's not the only criteria, but never underestimate the importance of professionalism and being pleasant.
In the last twenty-four hours, on various sites, I have seen writers who have not been plagiarized warning each other about an alleged plagiarist of another author's work; writers who do not write for the publisher in question alleging that the new publisher is unlikely to pay authors; and other instances of incivility.
Let's remember that the internet is a glasshouse and make an extra effort to be pleasant and supportive to one another here.
