C.A. Salisbury | 3 comments Hey everyone. I am new to this group, and I'm hoping this is where I go. I am a newly published author, but am suffering from lack of marketing at the moment. Book title available if desired.

New Member, here. Getting a book on Oprah's book club is a big deal so I thought I'd join and see if one of my books can make the list. I have been writing since I was 11 years old. I now have 11 books published. My most recent book is called Fairytale's Truth which is a children's book for ages 9-12. I write in several different genres but fantasy is my favorite. I am married with 3 grown children and I have 4 grandchildren at the moment. Writing is my life. It saved my life. Just wanted to introduce myself to the group. Thank you for having me!

Amber aka A.R. Grosjean

Michael Hunter McVay (michaelhuntermcvay) | 2 comments Hi!
Nice to meet everyone! Newbie here! <3 Oprah's Book Club! I'm an author, Vintage Barbie collector, and a miniaturist with massive collections. I retired from teaching art early, when my mom was killed in front of me on my birthday. Now I spend my time reading, writing, and creating!

The Repulsive Tales of Wayward Fern: When Drinking and Thinking Don't Mix
Michael Little Boy Black & Blue: Surviving the Effects of a Poisonous Child Abuser
Michael, Little Boy Blacker & Bluer: Surviving the Effects of a Poisonous Child Abuser II

I'm an avid reader and writer of LGBTQ+ books - the group I identify with. I have written three books from true-life, complete with love, betrayal, lust, abuse, torture, humor, complex-PTSD, passion, a tinge of sarcasm and inspiration from the heart. Thank you for welcoming me into your group. Feel free to connect at any time. Let's look beyond the titles. We can talk about your books or mine! :)

Lale Davidson (goodreadscomlale_davidson) | 1 comments Hi Everyone, I'm new to the group. I love magical realism and literary fiction that is beautifully written but also strongly plotted. I look for strong character development and beautiful language. I also like things that bend genres and take risks. Hate cliches of all kinds, both in description, characterization and plot. I'm also a writer of magical realism. I try to meet my own standards, naturally, lol.

Runenmädchen Hey reader, I am looking for a female long-term tandem partner (learning partner), because I want to improve my English. Would you like to improve your German?
We could make a book, you read it in German, I do the same in English. The exchange should also be bilingual.
The speed should be adapted. We read the same chapters in the pace of the slower one. It would be great if you were also at Hellotalk, the correction of our (texting) exchange on HelloTalk is the easiest way, I guess.
I read everything out of (overacted) love novels and erotic literature.
What we read, we can either vote, or we take turns choosing one. Please only serious readers. As long as this post is active, I'm looking for a tandem partner. So if you’re interested, write a PN.
Greetings from Germany

Hi Michael. What caught my attention about your post was the way you casually dropped a traumatic event in passing. I do that too. Also, I have been struggling with my mental health and the ramifications of trauma as well! I would love to connect and check your work out!

I am a new member. I have been writing since my early teens. My grandmother wrote and was my biggest influence. I have written 3 books. "Gifts From God" which is a collection of my poetry that was published in 2005.
"Defend God's Word" which is what the Bible taught me on different subjects such as Faith, Heaven and Salvation. And was published in 2006.
My newest book is "On The Edge". An Inspirational fictional novel that answers the question. Who do we turn to when life pushes us to the edge. This book means so much to me. And I am praying that it touches people's hearts. It is out on Nook.

Debbie (dashforcover) Hello. I am a reader of lists of books. I've read all Fiction Pulitzer winners (except 2021), Caldecott Medal winners and Newbery Medal winners. I'm currently engaged in reading all "not fiction" Pulitzer winners as part of the NonFiction Pulitzers group. In my later years I am more drawn to non-fiction, though I still enjoy a wide range of fiction genres, my favorite being lighter detective fiction.

Unlike Debbie in message 14, I'm not new on Goodreads having been here a goodly number of years.

Tom Herstad | 3 comments Hello Oprah Group,
I am a first time author. The book is about how my mother lived her life. Although she was a widow at 38 with 4 children she always had room for someone in need. Our spare bedroom was rarely empty. The book includes interviews with many souls she helped along the way. The book is being made into a movie, the result of a movie producers wife reading the book. How do I get this book to Oprah to help spread this message? Margie's message is "We are born with an inherent desire, want and need to connect and help one another. In so doing we experience joy and true fulfillment". www.tomherstadofficial.com

Esme | 3 comments New member! I’ve recently graduated university and am able to commit time to reading again after years of falling asleep over academic articles. I’m working in a library to fund my reading habits and a huge part of my job is inspiring young people to read through workshops and events like book fairs. In the future we would love to have authors talk to our students! Currently, I am reading one of our autumn book award nominees, ‘Small Pleasures’ by Clare Chambers ☺️

message 37: by Marika (new)

Marika | 1 comments Hi! My name is Marika and I'm trying to get back into reading. About 3-4 years ago I used to read all the time, but then for some reason I stopped reading, and it just got harder and harder to get back into it. I joined this group because there are so many new books out there. I have no idea where I should even start and it feels kind of overwhelming. I like all kinds of books, but I would say that my favorite genres are fantasy, sci-fi and contemporary (at least for the moment).

Broken
Hello! My name is Christine M. Morton and I am a new author, in the Buffalo NY area. I am searching how to get my first published book Broken (Romance/Mystery/Thriller) noticed outside of the friends and family circle! I am hoping to get some advice or direction on how to advertise my book. I am already on my second book Bully that is currently in the editing process, but would like to focus on Broken since it is already out there and for sale.
Broken is a story of friendship, love, sex, murder, betrayal and secrets exposed. It’s a romantic rollercoaster ride. A love story with a serial killer vibe.
Lena McAnderson a young, quiet, beautiful blonde country girl, who during high school, while everyone was in the prime of their life, took care of her dying mother up until the very end. During this heart breaking time Lena gets to know her neighbor and high school peer, Bryan Mills whom she later believes could be her possible soulmate. That is until Chance Wallace stumbles into her life, an outsider from Cloverfield Maine, who carries along with him a dark secret.
Lena finds herself entangled in a strange love triangle which in return causes love hate relationships.
The once quiet town of Silver Tree Acres PA becomes plagued by a serial killer. A serial killer who has convinced himself that his intentions are good.
