For this month we are reading: INJA. Lets get started!

Use the books you finish in April to fill out the word, or both, using the first letter of the first word in the title (excluding 'the', 'a' or 'an') or the first letter of the author's name, middle name or surname.

Good luck everyone!

Wayne Jordaan | 825 comments April word, INJA, done. I did substitute two of the planned reads, but that's how I roll, Flexible being my middle name.

Well done, Wayne! An eclectic collection this month. I must make progress on Africa39.

Thanks Carolien, Yes, the Africa 39 spread of authors nearly took me from Cape Town to Cairo. I thought you finsihed Africa 39.

I've got an insane project to read a book written by each of the Africa39 authors, so as I make my way through the books, I read the short stories. It will take me a while to get through all of them. I'm doing the same with the Caine Prize winners.

Quite a challenging undertaking Carolien. Enjoy!

I gave up on Who Fears Death for the letter N and just read good, old plain non-fiction in the end. Land Matters: South Africa's Failed Land Reforms and the Road Ahead is a very lucid look at our land reform programme.

That said this was a good month of reading. Tayari Jones has managed to get on my list of authors who I HAVE to read more of. I've already started another one of hers.

An Imperfect Blessing brought back so many memories from the early 1990s.

Well, maybe it is a good idea to let Onyesonwu stew a bit and then go back to her later. Do an Aro on her. Will definitely read Land Matters soon.

I just had a glance at Tavari Jones' page on GR and her books got good ratings. A Book of the Month suggestion maybe somewhere in the near future.

Sounds like you met some winners this month. I just finished [book:Under The Tuscan Sun
, well written book, and I enjoyed it. Earlier I read the two first George Smiley books from John le Carre, and talk about being taken back in time, when was the last time your heard of the fog in London?

I enjoyed Under the Tuscan Sun when I read it years' ago. I somehow never read Le Carre, I should consider it as he is an interesting character.

Fog in London...not in years.

Wayne Jordaan | 825 comments I am now reading the third book in the George Smiley series and the gloom is definitely lifting.
