The Ultimate Wings of Fire Discussion and Roleplaying Group discussion

The once-elegant buildings of the Island Palace still remain, though they've largely become crumbled and overgrown ruins. There are many rumors of the island being haunted by the long-ago ghosts of the slaughtered dragons and thus it isn't a very popular place, however some brave dragons choose to hold parties on the beaches of the island. There are no projects currently underway to rebuild any part of the island.

Sea Glass padded onto the beach, wet sand smothering her talons. This place gives me goosebumps. She thought with a shudder. The tall, worn down and overgrown spires stuck out like broken bones. It was colder than the other islands here. It felt like someone was watching her, little did she know, someone was. She started to explore.

Solstice came out of the sea behind her, crouching low into the sand. Waves crashed against his body, but he kept himself as still as possible. In one claw he held a silver disc, in the other was a poison tipped dagger. Once he was sure she wasn't looking, Solstice crept further up the sand, staying out of her line of sight. He spread his wings and jumped silently into the air, winging to the top of a spire where he perched.

Salmon watched from far above, using one of her spells to shift into a Rainwing so she could hide. She smiled, swooping lower to see them both.

Tortoise swooped down, trying to find Solstice again. She figured he went here.

"perfect place for an assassin to hide," Tortoise swallowed hard, "It is time for you to go into complete survival mode."

She had a smoke bomb ready, her goggles on, and a knife at the ready. Her bag was slung across her shoulder.

There was a flash of light and then Solstice was arrowing down towards Sea Glass. Claws outstretched, he snatched her up, beating his wings to get higher into the air. Sea Glass' wings were pinned to her sides and she screamed in terror. Her screams were cut short. With an airy, gurgling sound, Solstice neatly slit the Seawing's throat and dropped her body. The now lifeless body of Sea Glass thudded against the sand and without missing a beat, Solstice disappeared into the clouds.

Salmon took off the necklace, revealing her true form. She was an Icewing, thin and beautiful. She swooped after him, gracefully like a swan and her wings made no noise. She looked dangerously thin, but her beauty made up for that. Her silvery-green scales and pink sides shimmered in the harsh light.

Tortoise saw the flash of light, but was too far away and didn't see the actual killing. She swooped down to the body and checked the pulse. Her stomach dropped straight to the sand and her heart sank.
"Dead," she thought, "How could a dragon do that? Especially at a time of peace, unless it was in self defence. But only his neck is hurt. This was definitely a murder. Solstice..."
She knew he did this. She looked up at Salmon.
"Hey," She called, "You know the proper burial for a SeaWing?"
She then saw another dragon and bounded into the air.

Salmon seemed to flicker in the air, like a glitch, and as she turned, she slipped on a necklace and for a moment it looked like a Rainwing was there instead before she disappeared. Salmon couldn't let Solstice see her.

Upon hearing her voice, Solstice turned around. He saw Tortoise and his entire face lit up with joy. "Tortoise! I haven't seen you since the Scorpion Den! How have you been, how'd you find me?" He acted as if he hadn't just murdered a dragon for a reason unknown to him.

"Don't let him know you know he killed this SeaWing," Tortoise said.
"First off," she said, "Given the fact you were after a SeaWing, I figured the Kingdome of Sea was a good place to start, and nobody likes coming to the island palace. Secondly, you can do pretty much anything if you have passion."
She tried not to look at the body below her.

"You're pretty smart." His face darkened slightly and he flapped so he could start to circle her. Solstice stared at her, studying her face. She looked nervous, a bit pale, and a bit suspicious of him. He snapped out of it and hovered, glancing away to break eye contact. "Well, I have plenty of free time until my next job so.." He wasn't sure what to say so he trailed off, a huge sh*t-eating grin on his face. There was a new golden earring clipped to his ear. It didn't seem like Solstice was the jewelry type.

((Kids these days and their language *shakes head disapprovingly* ANYWAY, A lot of people have asked that people not RP with the same character in multiple different RP at the same time. Also, I would like to clear something up I said in a different topic: I usually keep RPs open UNLESS one of the participants wants it closed. Besides, you still have the RP with me, Liv, and Sunrise. (Handy tip: having a more detailed character form will get the character approved faster: that is the secret how some of us have a lot of characters in a short amount of time = being in more RP :))))

Tortoise’s heart pounded in her chest. There was something about Solstice that she couldn’t quite place. She swooped down to land, but remembering the sand wet with seawater and a little bit with blood she maneuvered herself back up.

“What does that earring do?” She asked, “Does it...”

She stopped herself from saying “Does it help you assassinate.”

“...Did it help you getting from the Scorpion Den to the Island Palace ruins in such a short time?”

Salmon had faith Solstice wouldn't give up her secret.

"Oh this ol' thing? Tray gave it to me, my Skywing friend. It's just a normal earring." He unclipped it and held it out for her to see but not for her to take. "And i'm so fast because i'm part Skywing." He informed, spreading his wings a bit wider as he hovered.

Salmon grinned, she was right to trust this hybrid assassin.

Tortoise gave him a look that said, “You’re lying like a carpet.”
“Well,” Tortoise said, still weary whether he would at any moment lunge at her and try to kill her, “I do not see why you would be wearing something that can reflect light when you are trying to sneak around in the darkness.”
“Two days,” She thought, “You only have to be with this brute for two days.”
She also was getting a strange feeling someone was watching. Was it just the spirit of dead SeaWing, or was there someone else, hiding. Waiting to strike.

Solstice took the look and mentally kicked himself. He flicked his wingtips and smiled at her again. "Well I have plenty of time to kill, like I said, where do you want to go?" He pulled a map from his pouch and smoothed it out in one palm. The map was incredibly detailed, even with the Deep Sea Palace and Old Night Kingdom on there.

Salmon hovered closer, ducking beneath Tortoise's wings and she looked at the map. She'd never seen most of the things Solstice carried but just from seeing this, she knew he was experienced. Her claws flew to her necklace, just to be sure that it was there. Good. She was still invisible to them both.

Tortoise flapped her wings away from the breeze she felt and shivered. Was it just the cold wind? But the prevailing wind currents were not the same as the breeze she just got under her wing and on her side.
“I do not really care where we go, just so that I can be with you for two days and prove it.” She stopped herself from saying that allowed, “Might as well have the time be as best I can.”

“Hmmmm,” Tortoise said out loud after an awkward moment of silence, “There are so many choices. On one hand I’d like to explore the ruins of this palace, on the other hand, I hate the moist air and sand.”
“And you killed someone here.” She added in her mind.

"Then.. We could go here?" He pointed to the ruins of the Old, Old Nighwing home. "We could explore there?" Solstice thought he saw Tortoise shiver but pushed it away. She must've seen me kill Sea Glass. Oh well, at least she knows the danger.

Salmon dropped lower, noticing Tortoise raise her guard. She swooped around, closer to Solstice, knowing he wouldn't notice. Salmon smiled, Solstice was clever, just as she predicted. She liked him pretty well, if she were to be honest. Salmon flicked her tail and the earring unclipped and floated to her, where is dissipated into a bag of hers.

Tortoise didn't see the earing ominously unclip from Solstice's ear as she was studying the map, her other senses alert in case he decided to attack. The Old NightWing Kingdom was on the other side of Pyrriah, but it was closer to home. She would have to keep up with a naturally very aerodynamic SkyWing-SandWing hybrid and what did she have on her side? She was lighter, and she did know some physics principles that Solstice didn't know but other than that she was at a disadvantage.
"Seems like a good place to explore," She said, looking up at Solstice, "Unless this is a trap." She fingered her dagger and fiddled with the strap of her bag.

Solstice didn't feel the earring unclip, or see it either. "It is, i've only been there once but it's very pretty. I heard it's more cursed than the Island Palace, which we are at now." He grinned. Solstice didn't look hostile, but yet again, he had just killed another dragon and wasn't bothered by it. He met her eyes, his own sparkling with the promise of an adventure. Solstice saw her fiddle, he could tell she was nervous but he would never hurt her.

Salmon felt jealousy swell up inside her. This dragon needed to die. Solstice was hers. Her eyes flickered to the dagger in Tortoise's talons. No. She had to wait. The less Solstice knew, the better.

I am getting boooored.))

"Curses?" Tortoise asked, trying to hide her fear, "Like... Animi enchanted traps and stuff to keep dragons out?"
"What if I discover I am allergic to animus magic like my father?" She thought, "What if.." She felt her skin itched as Rattlesnake described her father’s allergies, which were different depending on what the animus magic did, how powerful it was, etc.

im probably gonna have Solstice and Salmon be together, Solstice doesn't like-like Tortoise though it may seem like he does ))

"Yes, exactly that, though I know plenty of dragons that have visited there so no need to worry!" He wheeled around. "Should we get going?" Solstice asked, the setting sun washing them both in an amber glow.
