Walk down the road.
Stare down at your feet.
Ignore strangers and friends alike.
See nothing; hear nothing.

Plane crashes, terrorists
starvation, and disease
all fly by, but ignore them
See nothing; hear nothing

Walk through the tunnel
that isolates you from the world
Step by step towards the light at the end
See nothing; hear nothing.

Now, see something.
Hear something.
Children are crying.
Children are laughing.

Tear down your tunnel and
meet the unfamiliar world
that you’ve lived in all your life.
Laugh. Cry.

Make friends; make enemies
Sketch the sky and plant a flower
Find love, have your heart broken.
Live your life.
