Patty has released the title for the next Mercy novel. Fire Touched. She's just started writing it. No spoilers but the fae aren't hiding on the Resevations anymore.

Can't you just see Coyote, the proud Grandpapa? Although he might fix it so that it's able to shift to either coyote OR wolf. After all, when your Father is a demi-god (from a Western perspective) you never know what's going to happen. Although I think it would be nice for Charles to have another born Wolf to help with training and raising.
I thought Briggs was toying with the idea of a baby when she brought it up in the beginning of Frost Burned after Mercy and Jesse's car accident. I am so ready for a hybrid baby.
Im not sure where to post this question so im going to post it here :)I know i Moon Called we were told that Mercy has a few more tattoos than just her paw print and that they are on her arms. But are they all over her arms like on the covers or are they small like her paw print?
the only other tattoos she has other than the paw print are celtic arm bands around both biceps. the cover tattoos are always different on all the covers because they reflect the plot of each book.

I wondered why they always looked different from book cover to book cover. Now I know.
"I will end you. No warning. No question"I cheered. Out loud. Thank GOD I have my own office. With the door closed.
That. Was. BRILLIANT. "I WILL END YOU!!!"
YEAH!! YEAH YEAH YEAH!!!!!
Not done yet, but that..oh that...thank you sweet baby Jesus.

My favorite part of the book :) I was in public but was able to keep quiet but I did jump up and down, I was listening to the audio book.
I just finished and I really liked this book!! Im so sad that now we have to start the wait all over again for the next book :'(But one of the things that kinda confused me was near the end when (view spoiler)
Just finished listening to it.Now I have to listen to it again to get all the stuff I missed the first time. What a good book. What a great series. Can't wait to see what happens next...the events in this book will definitely 100% have repercussions throughout the supernatural world.
Damn this woman can write. I love the world she's built.
Dawn wrote: "I don't think [spoilers removed]"Yea that's what I thought :(
But it was still a great book and im going to reread it soon
I too love Patty. I've been reading her for a lot of years (even before Mercy) and can say without any doubt in my mind--she just keeps getting better and better. And waiting for that next book ALWAYS seems like it's FOR-EV-AH
I am so envious of all of you who have gotten to read it already LOL I have to wait, due to some health issues that caused me to lose a few weeks of pay... and besides, all my others are in paperback so I'll wait for it to be out in that too, so it fits with the rest. But its soooo hard to wait!

A win all the way around.
Ok everyone--Guess what I found while out surfing the web??????A COYWOLF PICTURE. Yes, there really is such a thing, and all I could do was go SKWEEEEEE.

That's the link (and the history of the cute critter. It seems that it has occurred in the wild.) Think we should let Patty know so that she know what the baby will look like????

Skweee definitely fits!
That is so cool and a coywolf pup for Mercy and Adam would be freaking adorable!
Amanda--maybe if it were a REGULAR coyote gene. But we are talking COYOTES grandpuppy here, which pretty much resets everything.
Can you imagine? The strength and majesty of a wolf, and the cunning and intelligence of a Coyote. And supernatural. With Mercy's abilities and Adam's strength AND Pack Magic?Whew...that kid would be a force to be reckoned with...
Don't think I'm ready for that quite yet...
I'm not sure that MERCY and ADAM are ready for it yet. :o) But bet Coyote would be one seriously proud Grandpa
I think I must be the only one that doesn't want them to produce offspring! I used to want them to. I now realise that, while it's fertile ground for fanfic or fan speculation (no pun intended), it's going to be seriously limiting in terms of possible storylines. And I think Adam faced with pregnant Mercy would be overbearing to the point of irritation :P I think that a baby will herald the end of the series, and I love it too much. But Ms Briggs has indicated, due to the longing of fans, she's looking for a way to make them have a kid. My guess is that it'll be an 'Oops' pregnancy, because as the author has said, Mercy and Adam would never intentionally put a child in the middle of all the upheaval their lives have seen lately.

It would be seriously limiting for them if they had a child because of their lives, and they do wind up in a lot of trouble.
I also was thinking that it might be a "rescue" child. One that they find and rescue from say, one of the nightmare fae that have been released, or maybe another child like Mercy--one of the Walkers who has no parents to help with what they are. (I don't think it will be another coyote, but Wolf might decide to do something about one of his descendants, and send the child to Mercy and Adam.) And we all know that Adam and Mercy both are major "rescuers" simply based on their personalities.
Ann aka Iftcan wrote: "I also was thinking that it might be a "rescue" child. One that they find and rescue from say, one of the nightmare fae that have been released, or maybe another child like Mercy--one of the Walker..."That actually makes more sense.
Yeah, it makes more sense that their child would be a rescue and not of their own bodies. They've already "rescued" the firetouched kid and he's now unofficially theirs. That "kid" is not going anywhere. But a real baby. A changeling like Mercy, would be really interesting.
I agree. Just finished FT and think a child - somehow - is coming soon but I think it will be a rescue too. And since Jesse is growing up...
As I was reading this I had a thought....We all know that Gary (Mercy's half brother, for those who don't remember his name) has a real thing for Honey. What if by some working of Coyote--HONEY got pregnant with Gary's baby???
She can't. If a werewolf doesn't change with the moon, she dies (Charles's mom) and all the changes kill the fetus. Werewolves can't carry to term.
I know that--but we are talking Coyote here. I'm sure that he can fix it if he wants too. And Wolf is now aware of the werewolves--perhaps he and Coyote could have a bet going. I don't know why it suddenly popped into my head, but it did. And I think that one of Honey's problems is that she really does want a baby. She is clearly NOT a new turn, so when she was born and raised, women were expected/wanted to have children and get married. Yes, in every age before ours (by "ours" I'm talking since WWII) there were those exceptional women who bucked the trend and went their own way, but they were usually wealthy and had the ability to do that, but most women wanted the husband and kids because it meant security (financial and/or for old age.) And changing what we are raised to perceive as important and expected isn't easy, no matter how long we live.
Itzel wrote: "I thought Briggs was toying with the idea of a baby when she brought it up in the beginning of Frost Burned after Mercy and Jesse's car accident. I am so ready for a hybrid baby."I completely agree, I think their little hybrid would be awesome!
Does anyone wonder why the fire touched boy couldn't protect himself?? Why did he need the pack?!I loved him, and the story and everything about it, but I just couldn't get over why this awesomely powerful kid would need protection?
I really love this series. I am about 80% done with this book (only because I am working, or else I'd be reading it now!) But I have to say, these books are amazing! This one isn't so much less action, but the action parts are shorter than most of the other books.
I just finished re-reading this series at the end of last year, along with Alpha & Omega (for the first time) but I already want to read them all again!
Micah, because as powerful as he is--he still can't stand up to the Grey Lords. (Remember, all the other kids that Underhill had also changed were dead at the hands of the Grey Lords and other fae.)
Ann aka Iftcan wrote: "Micah, because as powerful as he is--he still can't stand up to the Grey Lords. Not sure why I let that little tidbit pass me by. :)
I think a baby would be the end of the series. I never understand why people always want the female character to get pregnant.I have the same problem with the J.D. Robb books with people wanting Eve to have a baby even though the author has said NO
