Salma19 (And I Darken stan) | 155 comments Hi! What are the rules you set in terms of DNF’ing a book? When do you decide it is the right time to shut an unfinished book for good? Do you wait until you reach a certain percentage? Do you DNF as soon as you are not feeling it? Tell me more!

Cass (all too tired) | 77 comments - if I’ve been reading it for more than a month
- I don’t like the main character(s)
- when I try to pick up the book, I get distracted and don’t want to read it
- I’m not enjoying reading. It’s a chore reading the book.
- it’s not for school or something that affects my life outside of reading for enjoyment

There are probably a couple more, but these are the basic reasons for putting down a book.

Elizabeth I drop the book at whatever point decide it isn't worth my time. I don't rate DNFs however unless I have good overall idea of them (got around 40%/skim-read, skim-read counts as DNF)
