Play Book Tag discussion

Whilst we can never know why Jane Austen’s letters were destroyed by her sister Cassandra, this novel is based on the idea that Cassandra had a secret mission to destroy anything that might show her sister in anything but the best light. As we follow Cassandra, we find out more about Jane Austen’s life, and Cassandra’s life after Jane’s death. We also see the life that unmarried women at the time were expected to lead, and the efforts they went to to not be seen as worthless or a burden. Overall, this was an easy-to-read book that gave an enjoyable fictionalised look at both Jane and Cassandra’s lives.
