Vanessa (nesshawk) Aesop Fable Word Search -September 2021
Dates: 09/01/21 - 09/30/21

I have always loved Aesop. For these monthly challenges, we are going to hunt for both the creatures of the fable, as well as the morals of the story, leaving out all the wee words like the, and, you, of, for, etc. We will start with the most well-known, and then dive into those less familiar, including those that maybe are too dark for children’s reading!

The Hare & the Tortoise
The race is not always to the swift.
Slow and steady wins the race.

The Fox & the Grapes
The grapes of disappointment are always sour.
There are many who pretend to despise and belittle that which is beyond their reach.

The Lion & the Mouse
A kindness is never wasted.
Small causes may produce great results.

The Dog & His Reflection
It is very foolish to be greedy.
If you covet all, you may lose all.

******************************************************************
The Challenge: Below is a list of 35 words to find within the text of a book. For each word found, you will need to provide the book title, the page or location number, the sentence containing the word, and the date you finished reading your book.

- There is no limit to the number of words found per book. (No, you don’t have to read 35 books this month, although I know there are many of you who could!)
- No page minimum.
- Words must match exactly. No substitutions, please.
