personality: Jest is playful and teasing by nature, and he always has been. That's part of being a court jester, and so is being funny, having a sence of humor, and thinking on the spot, and Jest is all of these things. He's also very intelligent, and is a quick thinker. He always thinks outside the box, whether it been in inventing a new trick or fixing an old one. He's very cunnning and witty, as well as sarcastic, and he has a sharp tongue and a comeback for every situation. Jest is slightly pessimistic, but he manages to look at the brighter side. Sometimes, Jest has moments of confusion or deja vu where he rembers something, something from when he was just a figment of Isolabella's imagination. He does his best to push away those memories, but sometimes they come creeping back. There's also another half of him that is dark and broken, and Jest fears this side. This side of him comes from all of Isolabella's darker feelings, as well as his past and the feelings he bottles up. Fear, anger, despair, hopelessness. All of it is what makes up this side of Jest. The darker half of Jest's personality is something you want to avoid. Jest is split in two, and one second he can be playing pranks, the next he can be holding back tears. But Jest tries his best to push back this darker side, and every day is a bit lighter.

Netherling Form - For a netherling, Jest is very human-looking, and most assume he's from the real world but got trapped in Underland when the portals closed. However, Jest is a netherling, through and through. His hair is jet black, curly, and always messy, impossible to tame, no matter what he or anyone else tries. However, Jest likes it that way, and is constantly running his fingers through his hair, messing it up even more than it already is. Jest's most distinct netherling feature are his eyes, which are a bright lemon yellow, similar in color to a cat's, with flecks of gold that shine in the sunlight. Jest has fair skin, dotted with a few moles here and there. He always paints a dripping black diamond, almost like a tear, beneath his eye with kohl.
Netherling Mark - Jest's netherling mark is fairly simple, a small design of geometric patterns, and hard to notice unless you look closely. He doesn't like having a mark, and hides it with makeup whenever he can, instead telling everyone that the black diamond beneath his eye is his mark

history: Jest's memory is hazy. When he was younger, he lived with his family in Movocorac during the early years of his life. It wasn't the happiest household, with his father drunk and yelling half the time, and his mother strangely absent at night. On especially bad days, on the days Jest would get beaten by his father in his drunken rage, he would flee into the center of the city and loose himself in the crowds. Then one day, with no explanation, he became the apprentice to the court jester of the Red Palace. When he wasn't learning the tricks of the trade, he roamed the castle with Isolabella and Chess. He didn't notice the strange looks Isolabella got when she talked to him, or how people seemed to look right through him. Jest and Isolabella were inseparable for years, and then the castle was gone, and it was just empty black and the endless feeling of weight all around him, threating to crush him. Little did he know he was just a figment of Isolabella's imagination all that time, and Isolabella had been forced to shove him away and forget. After the death of Isolabella's mother, the weight lessened. Then, one day it was gone, and there was Isolabella, smiling as if nothing had happened, as if he hadn't been pushed away for years. But something told him to forget it, and so he did, bottling up the years and years of pressure and fear and hopelessness. Isolabella and Jest were together again, and now Jest spends his days with the princess, as good as friends as ever. But that Jest is the Jest that Isolabella created when she was younger. Now, Jest is real, not just a figment of imagination. He still remembers flashes of when he was imaginary, of skipping through the castle halls, arms linked with Isolabella's. Moments of happiness, of tea in the garden and rolling in the grass, laughing and playing. But now he knows that everything was fake, that he was fake, and he's trying to understand why.
